Spectroscopic Investigation of Polysulfide Redox Evolution in Catholyte Solutions for Potassium–Sulfur Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 50, 22 June 2026.
Potassium–sulfur batteries are investigated using UV–vis spectroscopy to track the evolution of potassium polysulfide species at elevated temperature. The study reveals sulfur radical anions as key intermediates and shows how solvent composition and cell design influence polysulfide stability, redox behavior, and cycling performance, providing insights

Luminescence and Photochromism in Lanthanide‐Doped Hackmanites

open access: yesAdvanced Optical Materials, Volume 14, Issue 23, 19 June 2026.
Lanthanide‐doped lithium hackmanite derivatives are prepared utilizing a doped LiAlSiO4 precursor to modify luminescent and photochromic properties. Upon UV excitation, europium doping results in green Eu2+ persistent luminescence from shallow traps. Contrarily, samarium doping induces unusual near‐infrared photochromism.

Brain Activity During the Gradual‐Onset Continuous Performance Task in Adolescents: An Exploratory fMRI Study

open access: yesBrain and Behavior, Volume 16, Issue 6, June 2026.
This exploratory fMRI study investigated neural mechanisms of sustained attention and inhibition in adolescents using two modalities of the gradCPT tasks. Brain activation during response inhibition showed modality‐specific patterns: face modality engaged left fronto‐cingulo‐cerebellar regions while scene modality activated bilateral fronto‐temporo ...

Psychotherapists' Interoception and Autonomic Nervous System Activations During Significant Moments of Psychotherapy Sessions

open access: yesCounselling and Psychotherapy Research, Volume 26, Issue 2, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Background This exploratory case study combines two branches of psychotherapy research, that is, multimodal study of therapeutic interaction and the paradigm of significant events. Aims We explored therapists' autonomic nervous system responses during significant moments in therapy sessions and the role of interoception in this context ...

Effect of Dough Yield, Flour Type and Fermentation Time on Sourdough Near‐Infrared Spectral Data With ANOVA–Simultaneous Component Analysis

open access: yesJournal of Chemometrics, Volume 40, Issue 6, June 2026.
ABSTRACT Near‐infrared (NIR) spectroscopy combined with ANOVA–simultaneous component analysis (ASCA) provides a powerful approach for investigating sourdough fermentation. Two complementary longitudinal experiments (repeated four times) were conducted to evaluate the influence of key design factors on sourdough development over a 28‐day refreshment ...

Differential expression of SM1 and SM2 myosin isoforms in cultured vascular smooth muscle

open access: yes, 1992
Ribonuclease protection assays were used to measure expression of smooth muscle (SM) specific myosin heavy chain (MHC) isoforms SM1 (204 kDa) and SM2 (200 kDa) and also nonmuscle MHC-A in cultured smooth muscle cells isolated from rat aorta.
