SMA microgripper system

Sensors and Actuators A: Physical, 2001
A microgripper system is presented, which consists of a monolithic shape memory alloy (SMA) device of 2 × 5.8 × 0.23 mm3 size and an integrated optical position sensor. By use of an integrated gear actuator, the motion of gripping jaws is transmitted into a linear motion of an integrated optical slit, which is detected by change of optical transmission.

SMAS-Platysma Face Lift

Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, 1983
Correction of laxity in the submental area and of hypertrophic neck cords has been enhanced with the SMAS-platysma face life over that which was achieved with a standard skin face lift. Evaluation of a 6-year experience with the SMAS-platysma face lift reveals that the operation can be safely performed with an acceptably low incidence of complications.

EsQUIsE-SMA

Proceedings of the 16th conference on Association Francophone d'Interaction Homme-Machine - IHM 2004, 2004
Architects use freehand sketches in the initial stages of their design work because they prove to be the best adapted media for handling and expressing their preliminary ideas. Therefore, to help designers in their inventive work, a means for inputting and interpreting their sketches was needed. We propose a multi-agent approach to attain that goal.
