Competitive Interfacial Partitioning in Cetyltrimethylammonium Bromide Self‐Assembly: A Coarse‐Grained Study Across Deep Eutectic Solvents

open access: yesChemistryOpen, Volume 15, Issue 8, August 2026.
Martini coarse‐grained simulations probe solvent–surfactant interactions of cetyltrimethylammonium bromide in choline chloride‐based deep eutectic solvents containing glycerol or urea. Competitive partitioning of the hydrogen‐bond donors around the surfactant headgroups accompanies striking composition‐dependent changes in micellar self‐assembly ...

Emerging High‐Entropy Electrolytes for High‐Performance Alkali Metal Batteries: Mechanism, Progress, and Prospects

open access: yesRare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Alkali metal (Li, Na, and K) batteries (AMBs) have attracted widespread attention in recent years because of their high theoretical specific capacity and attractive energy density. However, they still suffer from uncontrollable dendrite growth and sluggish conductivity during cycling, which lead to security issues and inferior cycling ...

Divergent Electrochemical Behaviors of O2 and O3 Phases in Li‐Rich Layered Oxides

open access: yesRare Metals, Volume 45, Issue 8, August 2026.
ABSTRACT Lithium‐ion batteries (LIBs) have dominated the landscape of electrochemical energy storage for decades. The growing market demands for higher energy densities are pushing against the limitations of conventional cathode materials. Li‐rich layered oxides (LLOs) present a promising path forward by harnessing both cationic and anionic redox ...

A Copper‐Complexing Lipid Unmasks the Ethanol Hidden Within Liposomes and Highlights the Relevance of Fabrication Method on the Performance of Lipophilic Functional Molecules

open access: yesSmall Science, Volume 6, Issue 8, August 2026.
Liposomes of the same composition obtained with microfluidics (μF) and thin film hydration methods exhibit different physicochemical properties, due to residual traces of ethanol from the μF protocol. This affects the insertion of a synthetic lipophilic ligand (HIOTD) and its ability to complex Cu(II).

Recycling End‐of‐Life Solid Oxide Cell Interconnect Assemblies into Commercial‐Grade AISI 304 Stainless Steels

open access: yessteel research international, Volume 97, Issue 8, Page 4363-4381, August 2026.
This study validates a recycling pathway for converting interconnect assemblies from end‐of‐life SOC stacks into commercial‐grade AISI 304 steels. Using scrap‐based steelmaking operations, austenitic cast steels with <4.0% δ‐ferrite are successfully produced.

Unlocking High Fluoride‐Ion Conductivity by Regulating the Order–Disorder Transition in Bisubstituted PbSnF4

open access: yesSmall Structures, Volume 7, Issue 8, August 2026.
Bi3+ substitution in PbSnF4 unlocks a fluoride‐ion conductivity of 6.3 mS cm−1 at 298 K. The transition from the superionic tetragonal to the low‐conductivity monoclinic phase is driven by an order–disorder transition of the fluoride‐ion sublattice coupled with periodic tilting of SnF5 polyhedra.
