Interaction of Ultra-Cold Neutrons with Condensed Matter [PDF]
General theory of neutron scattering (elastic and inelastic) is presented. It is applicable for the whole domain of slow neutrons and includes as limiting cases existing theories for thermal and cold neutrons and for elastic scattering of UCN. New expression for inelastic scattering cross section for UCN is proposed. It differs from the usually used by

Inelastic scattering of neutrons by superconducting rings [PDF]
The differential cross section for the inelastic magnetic scattering of neutrons by superconducting rings is derived theoretically taking account of the interaction of the neutron magnetic moment with magnetic field created by the superconducting current.

Constraints on a possible dineutron state from pionless EFT [PDF]
We investigate the sensitivity of the three-nucleon system to changes in the neutron-neutron scattering length to next-to-leading order in the pionless effective field theory, focusing on the the triton-3He binding energy difference and neutron-deuteron elastic scattering. Due to the appearance of an electromagnetic three-body counterterm at this order,

Scattering of Ultra Cold Neutrons on Nano-size Bubbles [PDF]
Inelastic scattering of ultra cold neutrons on bubbles with the size of nanometers is considered. It is shown that neutron-bubble cross section is large and sensitive to different vibration modes of bubbles. This process could be used for study of dynamics of nano-size bubbles and for new methods of ultra cold neutron production.

Inelastic neutron scattering peak in Zn substituted YBa2Cu3O7 [PDF]
The effects of nonmagnetic impurities on the neutron scattering intensity are studied for a model of the copper oxide layers in the normal state. The contribution to the Q=(pi,pi) neutron scattering intensity from processes involving the scattering of the spin fluctuations from an impurity with large momentum transfers are calculated within the random ...

Small-angle neutron scattering and magnetization study of HoNi2B2C [PDF]
The superconducting and magnetic properties of HoNi2B2C single crystals are investigated through transport, magnetometry and small-angle neutron scattering (SANS) measurements. In the magnetic phases that enter below the superconducting critical temperature, the small-angle neutron scattering data uncover networks of magnetic surfaces.

Polarized Neutron Scattering [PDF]
The technique of polarized neutron scattering is reviewed with emphasis on applications. Many examples of the usefulness of the method in various fields of physics are given like the determination of spin density maps, measurement of complex magnetic structures with spherical neutron polarimetry, inelastic neutron scattering and separation of coherent ...
