Microfluidic-SANS: flow processing of complex fluids [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Understanding and engineering the flow-response of complex and non-Newtonian fluids at a molecular level is a key challenge for their practical utilisation.

Structural Characterization of Biomaterials by Means of Small Angle X-rays and Neutron Scattering (SAXS and SANS), and Light Scattering Experiments

open access: yesMolecules, 2020
Scattering techniques represent non-invasive experimental approaches and powerful tools for the investigation of structure and conformation of biomaterial systems in a wide range of distances, ranging from the nanometric to micrometric scale.

Large Anomalous and Topological Hall Effect and Nernst Effect in a Dirac Kagome Magnet Fe3Ge

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Fe3Ge, a Kagome‐lattice magnet, exhibits remarkable anomalous Hall and Nernst effects, with transverse thermoelectric conductivity surpassing or comaprable to some well‐known ferromagnets. First‐principles calculations attribute these to Berry curvature from massive Dirac gaps. Additionally, topological Hall and Nernst signals emerge from field‐induced

SANS and neutron diffraction study of ausformed EUROFER97/2 ferritic/martensitic steel

open access: yesNuclear Materials and Energy, 2020
Small-angle neutron scattering (SANS) and neutron diffraction have been utilized for micro-structural characterization of Eurofer97/2 heats submitted to thermo-mechanical treatments, with the aim to investigate macroscopic material volumes and to ...

SANS studies of liquid crystalline microemulsion gels [PDF]

open access: yes, 1989
We have investigated by small-angle neutron scattering (SANS) the ternary system containing water, alkane and the surfactant mixture benzyltetradecyldimethylammonium chloride and tetradecyltrimethylammonium bromide, which we have found to form a cubic ...

Direct Evidence of Topological Dirac Fermions in a Low Carrier Density Correlated 5d Oxide

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The 5d oxide BiRe2O6 is discovered as a low‐carrier‐density topological semimetal hosting symmetry‐protected Dirac fermions stabilized by nonsymmorphic symmetries. Angle‐resolved photoemission spectroscopy, quantum oscillations, and magnetotransport measurements reveal gapless Dirac cones, quasi‐2D Fermi surfaces, high carrier mobility, and a field ...

Introduction to soft matter and neutron scattering

open access: yesEPJ Web of Conferences, 2018
As an opening lecture to the French-Swedish neutron scattering school held in Uppsala (6th to 9th of December 2016), the basic concepts of both soft matter science and neutron scattering are introduced.

small angle neutron scattering

open access: yesCatalysis from A to Z, 2020
SANS is a powerful technique for looking at structures on the nanoscale from 1 to 10 nanometres. When a neutron beam impinges on a sample, some neutrons scatter along a path that differs from the transmitted beam by as little as several hundredths of a ...

In Situ Study of Resistive Switching in a Nitride‐Based Memristive Device

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
In situ TEM biasing experiment demonstrates the volatile I‐V characteristic of MIM lamella device. In situ STEM‐EELS Ti L2/L3 ratio maps provide direct evidence of the oxygen vacancies migrations under positive/negative electrical bias, which is critical for revealing the RS mechanism for the MIM lamella device.
