Quasihydrodynamic model and small-scale turbulence

Mathematical Models and Computer Simulations, 2009
An averaged variant of the quasi-hydro-dynamical equations of the Navier-Stokes type is proposed for investigation of small scale turbulent flows. Averaging is applied only for small velocity pulsations. Large scale turbulence is analysed by direct numerical methods. A conservative difference scheme is used and a certain problem is solved.

Taxonomy of Small-Scale Fading Models

2018 IEEE East-West Design & Test Symposium (EWDTS), 2018
Fading is a signal distortion due to the heterogeneity of the communication channel, multipath propagation of radio waves, relative motion of the transmitter and receiver, shading. Traditionally, such distributions as the Rayleigh distribution, the Rice distribution (Nakagami-n), the Nakagami-m distribution, the Hoyt distribution, the Nakagami-q ...

Wind tunnel modeling of small-scale meteorological processes

Boundary-Layer Meteorology, 1987
After introductory remarks on similarity laws to be satisfied in wind tunnel experiments simulating small-scale meteorological processes, mean and turbulence characteristics of wind tunnel boundary layers are presented and compared with the characteristics of the atmospheric boundary layer.

Small Scale Models of Solar Tracking Systems

Annals of the University of Craiova Electrical Engineering Series, 2023
Increasing the efficiency of photovoltaic panels using solar tracking systems is a current topic. The use of solar tracking systems is a solution, especially in low power applications. The paper presents two types of solar tracking systems, one based on astronomical data, and the other based on tracking the point of maximum illumination.

Small scale model of linepipe

Experimental Mechanics, 1989
This paper discusses the technique of modeling pressurized pipe using small scale models. Pipes ofD/t ratio of around 64 were modeled using aluminum tubes of 44-mm diameter. Results from tests of small scale models show good agreement with those from large scale tests.

On the value of small‐scale GE models

International Journal of Economic Theory, 2015
AbstractThe field of international economics has made frequent use of general equilibrium models in order to investigate the nature of those possible comparative static equilibrium solutions that seem somewhat paradoxical. Frequently the analysis is done for settings in which the number of commodities, countries, and/or factors of production is assumed
