Small-signal stability analysis of delayed power system stabilizers

2014 Power Systems Computation Conference, 2014
This paper presents a stability analysis of power system stabilizers (PSS) for synchronous generators with inclusion of time delays. The paper shows that a time delay in the PSS feedback loop can improve the small-signal stability of a power system if the regulator gain is properly tuned.

Small-signal stability monitoring using PMU

2014 IEEE International Energy Conference (ENERGYCON), 2014
The paper presents results of the research devoted to PMU-based power system small-signal stability monitoring. Proposed method allows tracking in-phase groups of generators and critical generators in the groups by analyzing low-frequency oscillations. Further developed, method is able to identify proximity to power system stability boundary.

Flexible tool for small signal stability analysis

2014 IEEE PES General Meeting | Conference & Exposition, 2014
This paper presents the development of a flexible tool for the calculation of the state matrix A of the power system. This program is called SIAM (Sistema Informatico para Analisis Modal — Computational System for Modal Analysis). The state matrix is obtained from the load flow solution data and from the dynamic model parameters employed.

Power System Extended Small Signal Stability Region

MELECON 2006 - 2006 IEEE Mediterranean Electrotechnical Conference, 2006
A new type of extended small signal stability region (E-SSSR) is presented in this paper so that it can consider the low frequency oscillation phenomena captured in power system operations. The definition of the extended small signal stability region is first given and its boundary structure is discussed.

Stability in Small Signal Common Base Amplifiers

IEEE Transactions on Circuits and Systems I: Regular Papers, 2013
This paper presents an analytical study of parasitic oscillation in video bandwidth common base amplifiers. We develop a series of progressively more complex small signal equivalent circuits based on the hybrid-π model [1], [2]. These circuits are developed such that the effect of each new parasitic element on circuit performance is evident.

Neural network assessment of small signal stability

Proceedings of Canadian Conference on Electrical and Computer Engineering CCECE-94, 1994
Neural network (NN) techniques have been recently applied to several power system problems. So far the most common types of neural networks used in the power field have been the layered perceptron, trained with a backpropagation algorithm (supervised learning), and Kohonen's self-organizing feature maps (unsupervised learning).

DC micro grid small signal stability analysis

18th Electric Power Distribution Conference, 2013
In this paper DC microgrid small signal stability is studied. Droop based decentralized control is assumed for micro grid control. Dynamic model of each component is derived individually and combined to form total state space equations of DC micro grid. Eigen values of system are also extracted.

Neural Network Based Assessment of Small-Signal Stability

International Journal of Modelling and Simulation, 2007
This paper presents a neural network (NN) based approach for the assessment of small-signal stability of single-machine infinite bus power system by predicting the modal components of the local mode. Two types of feedforward NNs were examined, namely, the radial basis function neural network (RBFNN) and back propagation neural network (BPNN). The input

Small signal stability

2015
Analysing the power system with a goal of determining its stability is based on models of system components encompassing adequate assumptions to formulate an appropriate mathematical model in the time scale that properly describes the phenomenon under study.

SMALL SIGNAL STABILITY SISTEM TENAGA LISTRIK

JNSTA ADPERTISI JOURNAL
