Small Systems Convergence and Metrizability [PDF]
The abstract notion of convergence of functions with respect to a small system has its roots in the concept of convergence of functions in measure. The second author has shown that convergence of functions with respect to a small system generates a Fréchet topology.

Apparent finite-size effects in the dynamics of supercooled liquids [PDF]
Molecular dynamics simulations are performed for a supercooled simple liquid with changing the system size from N=108 to $10^4$ to examine possible finite-size effects.

Fluctuations in Small Systems [PDF]
We review the main features of event-by-event fluctuations of the content of the Fock states of onia (as models for dilute hadrons, or as bare hadronic components of virtual photons), as well as some of their observable consequences. We briefly address the total scattering cross section of a small onium off a nucleus, then of two small onia.

Exploring sQGP and small systems
A strongly coupled Quark–Gluon Plasma (sQGP) is created in the high-energy heavy-ion collisions at Relativistic Heavy-Ion Collider (RHIC) and Large Hadron Collider (LHC). Our present understanding of sQGP as a very good liquid with astonishingly low viscosity is reviewed.

A mechanism for symmetry breaking in antiferromagnetic Heisenberg systems [PDF]
An approximation method, based on dimer coverings, for the ground state of the antiferromagnetic Heisenberg lattice is described. The working of the method is demonstrated by some small-system calculations.

Anti-Collision System for Small Civil Aircraft
This paper presents the results of the research in the field of anti-collision systems for small civil aircraft, which are not dependent on secondary radars and satellite navigation systems.

The Nonequilibrium Thermodynamics of Small Systems [PDF]
The interactions of tiny objects with their environments are dominated by thermal fluctuations. Guided by theory and assisted by new micromanipulation tools, scientists have begun to study such interactions in detail.

Small algorithms for small systems [PDF]
s of Recent Doctoral Dissertations in Computer Algebra Communicated by Jeremy Johnson Each month we are pleased to present abstracts of recent doctoral dissertations in Computer Algebra and Symbolic Computation. We encourage all recent Ph.D. graduates (and their supervisors), who have defended in the past two years, to submit their abstracts for ...

Influence of the cosmological expansion on small systems [PDF]
The effect of the large-scale cosmological expansion on small systems is studied in the light of modern cosmological models of large-scale structure.
