Matrix metalloproteinase‐9 (MMP9) drives ovarian cancer progression. Using MMP9‐null cells (M9‐KO) created from ovarian cancer cells, we found MMP9 loss did not block Epidermal Growth Factor (EGF)‐driven E‐cadherin dissolution or EMT but delayed and reduced EGF‐driven membrane protrusions. Transient MMP9 re‐expression drove membrane protrusion.

Small Target Detection Using Optical Flow
2021 IEEE Aerospace Conference (50100), 2021Detection of small and dim infrared targets plays an important role in many imaging applications. In space imaging, natural phenomena, such as clouds, can confound detection methods. This can be mitigated by using methods which leverage information from multiple spectral bands.

Small target detection using wavelets
Proceedings. Fourteenth International Conference on Pattern Recognition (Cat. No.98EX170), 2002Presents a method for the detection of small objects embedded in a noisy background. The detection is performed on the wavelet transformed image. After a preliminary de-noising pass, the objects are separated from background by exploiting the evaluation of Renyi's information at the different decomposition levels of the wavelet transform.

Detectability of infrared small targets
Infrared Physics & Technology, 2010Selecting the most appropriate algorithms for detecting small targets in varied infrared image scenes is frequently needed, since the relative characteristics between small targets and backgrounds in varied scenes are disparate. To solve that problem, a novel criterion is proposed in this article to measure the difficulty in distinguishing small ...

NMI-Based Small Target Detecting Method
2010 International Conference on Electrical and Control Engineering, 2010For features of synchronous orbit target image, this paper proposes the small target detection method that based on Normalized moment of inertia feature. Firstly, this method uses gray mathematical morphological filter to pre-process the image, improves the target signal noise ratio without affecting the target shape, and then uses constant false alarm

Small-target detection in sea clutter
IEEE Transactions on Geoscience and Remote Sensing, 2004Sea clutter in marine surveillance radar makes the task of detecting small targets a very challenging problem. In this paper, a set of three signal processing techniques designed to suppress unwanted sea clutter radar echo and achieve target detection with no prior knowledge of the ocean and environmental conditions is presented.

Cognitive Approaches to Detection of Small Targets
2020 17th European Radar Conference (EuRAD), 2021This paper shows the early results from an investigation into the potential gain in detection performance achievable by optimizing the parameterization of a CA-CFAR detector to local clutter behaviour. The effect of varying CFAR window length is studied in particular for range correlated time independent samples, and the CFAR Loss (measured by ...

Biologically Inspired Small Target Detection Mechanisms
2007 3rd International Conference on Intelligent Sensors, Sensor Networks and Information, 2007A challenging engineering problem is the ability to detect and discriminate small moving objects against complex moving backgrounds. An evolutionary priority has tuned this capability within fly vision systems, so that they may detect, track and chase other flies, either for territorial or mating purposes.

Small Target Detection Improvement in Hyperspectral Image
2013Target detection is an important issue in the HyperSpectral Image (HSI) processing field. However, current spectral-identification-based target detection algorithms are sensitive to the noise and most denoising algorithms cannot preserve small targets, therefore it is necessary to design a robust detection algorithm that can preserve small targets ...

Small target detection by morphological operations
2015 23nd Signal Processing and Communications Applications Conference (SIU), 2015Automatic target detection has an important application field in today's missile technology. Therefore, there are many studies in this field. In this context, morphological operation (MO) based methods were firstly investigated and tested on the prepared scenarios.
