Small defects in crystalline polyethylene
Polymer, 1988Abstract A family of five crystallographic defects of three classes (two dislocations, two dispirations and one disclination) which primarily involve only one polymer chain is described for polyethylene. The extra energy associated with each defect in a perfect polyethylene crystal was computed.

Alar Rotation Flap for Small Defects of the Ala
Dermatologic Surgery, 2000Surgical defects of the alar lobule can be difficult to repair with aesthetically pleasing results. Full-thickness skin grafts are often smoother than the sebaceous skin of the ala. Random patterned flaps from the cheek or proximal nose usually bridge and obliterate the supra-alar crease and may cause nasal valve malfunction. We describe and illustrate ...

Timing-Aware Diagnosis for Small Delay Defects
22nd IEEE International Symposium on Defect and Fault-Tolerance in VLSI Systems (DFT 2007), 2007As semiconductor technologies progress, testing of small delay defects are becoming more important for SoCs. However, fault diagnosis of small delay defects has not been developed. We propose a novel timing-aware method for diagnosing small delay defects with a small computation cost using gate delay fault simulation with the minimum detectable delay ...

We use the results from the previous chapters in order to gain complete information about blocks with small defect groups. We also make use of the Cartan method. As an outcome, we give a complete description of the 2-blocks of defect at most 4. Additionally, we investigate some of the defect groups of order 32.

The reconstruction of small nasal defects
Operative Techniques in Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery, 1999The repair of small or superficial nasal wounds has not received as much attention in the plastic surgery literature as the reconstruction of large or complex defects, and yet managing patients with these problems can be extremely challenging. A strategy for repair can be successfully developed based on the size and location of the defect and the ...

Management of Small Nasal Defects
2019Repair of nasal defects has always been a great challenge for facial plastic surgeons. Because of heterogeneity of the nasal skin and being composed of different subunits, nasal reconstructive attempts are of great concern. In order to understand the underlying arguments of nasal reconstruction, first of all, we will briefly revise the anatomic ...

Small bowel incarceration in a broad ligament defect
Surgical Endoscopy, 2003We report the case of a 33-year-old woman whose medical history included three normal pregnancies without previous abdominal or pelvic surgery. She presented with small bowel obstruction. An abdominal computed tomography (CT) scan study revealed air fluid levels in the pelvis.

Poisson analyses of defects for small software components
Journal of Systems and Software, 1997Poisson analyses are proposed for the identification of the determinants of defects in small software components such as subprograms, modules, or functional units. Software complexity (which can be measured during design or implementation) and software development environment characteristics influence the numbers of defects emerging in the testing ...

A versatile procedure for the closure of small skin defects
Aesthetic Plastic Surgery, 1985The author describes a method for the primary, direct closure of wide skin lesions, combining the "lazy S," "crown," and the "H"-advancement flap techniques. The "lazy S" edges of the flaps permit the satisfactory use of adjacent surrounding skin with good aesthetic results, when the flaps alone would otherwise be placed under too much strain.
