Integrals of the difference of subharmonic functions over discs and planar small sets [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
The maximum of the modulus of a meromorphic function cannot be restricted from above by the Nevanlinna characteristic of this meromorphic function. But integrals from the logarithm of the module of a meromorphic function allow similar restrictions from above.

Therapeutic siRNAs: small molecules with bigger function

open access: yesAsian Journal of Medical Sciences
In the realm of molecular medicine, therapeutic small-interfering RNA (siRNA) is a promising class of molecules with exciting new opportunities in healthcare. An essential component of RNA interference (RNAi) is siRNA.

Small $x$ Contributions to the Structure Function $F_L(x,Q^2)$

open access: yes, 1994
The gluon contributions to $F_L(x,Q^2)$ in ${\cal O}(\alpha_s)$ are calculated taking into account the transverse momentum of the initial state parton.

Social context prevents heat hormetic effects against mutagens during fish development

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study shows that sublethal heat stress protects fish embryos against ultraviolet radiation, a concept known as ‘hormesis’. However, chemical stress transmission between fish embryos negates this protective effect. By providing evidence for the mechanistic molecular basis of heat stress hormesis and interindividual stress communication, this study ...

Meromorphic Functions That Share Four Small Functions

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Analysis and Applications, 2001
AbstractIn this paper, we prove that if two nonconstant meromorphic functions f and g share two small functions CM* and share other two small functions IM*, then f must be a quasi-Möbius transformation of g. This result is a generalization of several results obtained by G. G. Gundersen and Li-Yang.

A Note on Entire Functions That Share Two Small Functions [PDF]

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2014
This note is to show that iffis a nonconstant entire function that shares two pairs of small functions ignoring multiplicities with its first derivativef', then there exists a close linear relationship betweenfandf'. This result is a generalization of some results obtained by Rubel and Yang, Mues and Steinmetz, Zheng and Wang, and Qiu.

Resummed Predictions for the Structure Function F2 at Small x [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 1995
We report the results of including resummed splitting functions in the QCD evolution equations at small x, and discuss the predictions that follow for the deep inelastic structure functions.

miRNA‐29 regulates epidermal and mesenchymal functions in skin repair

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
miRNA‐29 inhibits cell‐to‐cell and cell‐to‐matrix adhesion by silencing mRNA targets. Adhesion is controlled by complex interactions between many types of molecules coded by mRNAs. This is crucial for keeping together the layers of the skin and for regenerating the skin after wounding.
