Diffusion Functions for Small Argument
SIAM Review, 1962Series expansions are given which are rapidly convergent when x is small. These are derived by noting the relation to theta functions and applying Poisson- s transformation formulas which convert small arguments into large ones.

Multiplicative functions with small increments. II
Acta Mathematica Hungarica, 1990\(\{\) For part I, cf. ibid. 55, No.1/2, 97-101 (1990; Zbl 0709.11050)\(\}\). A complete description is given of the multiplicative functions f that satisfy \[ \sum_{n\leq x}| f(n+K)- f(n)|^{\alpha}=O(\rho^{\alpha}(x)) \] for some K, a constant \(\alpha\geq 1\) and a slowly varying function \(\rho\). Such a function either satisfies \(\sum_{n\leq x}| f(

Neutrophil Function in Small Animals
Veterinary Clinics of North America: Small Animal Practice, 2012Neutrophils are highly mobile phagocytes that serve as the initial effectors against pathogens and are actively recruited to sites of inflammation. Chemoattractants guide them toward the inflammation, and their interaction with endothelial cells directs them through postcapillary venules and into the tissues.

Structure and function of the small ribozymes
Current Opinion in Structural Biology, 2001Recently, major advances have been made toward increasing our understanding of small ribozyme structure and function. The first general acid-base catalytic mechanism for a ribozyme has been defined. Shifted nucleotide pK(a) values have been found to be surprisingly frequent structural elements.

Functions that are Lipschitz in the small
Revista Matemática Complutense, 2016Let \(X\) and \(Y\) be metric spaces. A function \(f:X\rightarrow Y\) is said to be Lipschitz in the small (\(f \in \mathrm{LS}(X,Y)\) for short) if there are \(r> 0\) and ...

Meromorphic functions sharing small functions
Archiv der Mathematik, 2001The author proved the following main result: Let \(f\) and \(g\) be meromorphic functions sharing four small functions \(a_1,a_2,a_3,a_4\) ignoring multiplicities. If there is a small function \(a_5\) distinct from \(a_j\), \(j=1,2,3,4\), such that \[ \overline{N}(r,f=a_5=g)\not=o(T(r,f))\;(r\to\infty) \] possibly outside a set of \(r\) of finite ...
