Substructure around M31 : Evolution and Effects [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
We investigate the evolution of a population of 100 dark matter satellites orbiting in the gravitational potential of a realistic model of M31. We find that after 10 Gyr, seven subhalos are completely disrupted by the tidal field of the host galaxy.

Post‐COVID Fatigue Is Associated With Reduced Cortical Thickness After Hospitalization

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Neuropsychiatric symptoms are among the most prevalent sequelae of COVID‐19, particularly among hospitalized patients. Recent research has identified volumetric brain changes associated with COVID‐19. However, it currently remains poorly understood how brain changes relate to post‐COVID fatigue and cognitive deficits.

Galactic halo cusp-core: tidal compression in mergers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
We explain in simple terms how the buildup of dark haloes by merging compact satellites, as in the CDM cosmology, inevitably leads to an inner cusp of density profile $\rho \propto r^{-\alpha}$ with $\alpha \gsim 1$, as seen in cosmological N-body ...

Evaluation of the Efficacy and Safety of Satralizumab in a Pregnant NMOSD Patient With AQP4/MOG‐IgG Dual Seropositive: A Case Report

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Neuromyelitis Optica Spectrum Disorder (NMOSD) is a chronic autoimmune neuroinflammatory disease, typically characterized by antibodies against aquaporin 4 (AQP4‐IgG) or myelin oligodendrocyte glycoprotein (MOG‐IgG). Simultaneous seropositivity for both antibodies in a single patient is exceedingly rare.

Efficient Power Conditioning: Enhancing Electric Supply for Small Satellite Missions

open access: yesAerospace
Electric power supply (EPS) is the heart of any aerospace mission and plays an important role in improving the performance and service lifetime of spacecraft. It generates, converts, stores, and distributes power to different voltage levels.

Baseline Regional Cholinergic Denervation Predicts Cognitive Trajectories in Moderate Parkinson Disease

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective Cognitive decline is a disabling and variable feature of Parkinson disease (PD). While cholinergic system degeneration is linked to cognitive impairments in PD, most prior research reported cross‐sectional associations. We aimed to fill this gap by investigating whether baseline regional cerebral vesicular acetylcholine transporter ...

Nuove Prospettive Tecnologiche e di Servizio per l'Aerospazio

open access: yesGEOmedia, 2018
Advances in technology have split the space community to focus on the miniaturization of conventional satellites, making smaller satellites increasingly popular every day and in recent years several small satellites have been launched (nano, micro and ...

Orbital Evolution of Moons in Weakly Accreting Circumplanetary Disks

open access: yes, 2017
We investigate the formation of hot and massive circumplanetary disks (CPDs) and the orbital evolution of satellites formed in these disks. Because of the comparatively small size-scale of the sub-disk, quick magnetic diffusion prevents the ...

FDG‐PET Associations With Disease Severity and Outcomes in NMDA‐Receptor IgG Autoimmune Encephalitis

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Patients with N‐methyl‐D‐aspartate (NMDA) receptor‐immunoglobulin G (IgG) autoimmune encephalitis (NMDAR‐IgG AE) demonstrate occipital lobe hypometabolism on baseline brain fluorodeoxyglucose‐positron emission tomography (bFDG‐PET).

Small Communication Satellites: A Promising Space Industry Needing Insurance

open access: yesInternational Review of Law, 2021
The small satellite industry has experienced unprecedented growth over the past four years. Nearly two hundred (200) small satellites were launched, with a weight ranging from one (1) to (50) kilograms.
