Sample return from small solar system bodies
Advances in Space Research, 2000Abstract With plans for multiple sample return missions in the next decade, NASA requested guidance from the National Research Council's SSB on how to treat samples returned from solar system bodies such as planetary satellites, asteroids and comets. A special Task Group assessed the potential for a living entity to be included in return samples from

Small Bodies of the Solar System
International Astronomical Union Colloquium, 1984Schmidt telescopes are ideal for many types of survey work, and this includes surveying the solar system. Schmidt cameras have the advantages of speed and wide fields for rapid coverage of large areas of the sky, and good image quality over the entire field. The small focal ratios also have the effect of enhancing low surface-brightness features.
