Thermoviscoplasticity at small strains
ZAMM - Journal of Applied Mathematics and Mechanics / Zeitschrift für Angewandte Mathematik und Mechanik, 2008AbstractA viscoelastic solid in Kelvin‐Voigt rheology involving plasticity coupled with a heat‐transfer equation through a temperature‐dependent yield stress is investigated. No hardening is studied but the evolution of the plastic strain is considered to be rate‐dependent.

Small‐strain heterogeneous elastoplasticity revisited
Communications on Pure and Applied Mathematics, 2012AbstractThe elastoplastic quasi‐static evolution of a multiphase material—a material with a pointwise varying yield surface and elasticity tensor, together with interfaces between the phases—is revisited in the context of conservative globally minimizing movements.

Damage in trabecular bone at small strains
European Journal of Morphology, 2005Evidence that damage decreases bone quality, increases fracture susceptibility, and serves as a remodeling stimulus motivates further study of what loading magnitudes induce damage in trabecular bone. In particular, whether damage occurs at the smaller strains characteristic of habitual, as opposed to traumatic, loading is not known.

Measurement of Compressive Stress-Strain Response at Small-Strains
Journal of Visualized ExperimentsThis study developed a measurement method capable of precisely evaluating the mechanical behavior of materials and microdevices in the small-strain region. The system integrates a motor-controlled z-stage, a microcontroller board, an operational amplifier circuit, and a force sensor, enabling synchronized force-displacement acquisition through custom ...

Thermomechanics of rubber at small strains
Polymer, 1987Abstract A reduced variable, linear thermoelastic constitutive equation for rubber at small strains is obtained from classical linear thermoelasticity and empirical observations about the stress-temperature behaviour of real elastomers at fixed strain.

Small elastoplastic strains of dielectrics
Journal of Applied Mechanics and Technical Physics, 1975The theory of small elastoplastic strains of dielectrics in the presence of an electric field is developed in the work. An expression is obtained for the electric part of the stress tensor. Total free energy minimum theorems with constant temperature and simple proportional loading and unloading theorems are proved.

The strain energy of cyclotetradecane is small
The Journal of Organic Chemistry, 1992Contrary to earlier reports, we show the strain energy of cyclotetradecane is both small and similar to that of other moderately sized cycloalkanes. Our finding is derived by use of semiempirical rules, MM3 molecular mechanical calculations, chemical intuition, and new measurements of head of sublimation (mean temperature=39 o C, 23.4 kcal mol -1 ...

Mechanical anisotropy at small strains
1997The recognition that molecular orientation can produce important enhancement in the mechanical properties of polymers has long been appreciated, so it is perhaps surprising to find that detailed studies of the total mechanical anisotropy are comparatively rare.

In the previous chapter, in the models with pressure dependent stiffness, the shear modulus G was either constant or increased with the mean effective stress. These models used to describe the pre-yielding deviatoric behaviour of soils in standard triaxial compression tests reasonably well.
