RaMBat: Accurate identification of medulloblastoma subtypes from diverse data sources with severe batch effects

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
To integrate multiple transcriptomics data with severe batch effects for identifying MB subtypes, we developed a novel and accurate computational method named RaMBat, which leveraged subtype‐specific gene expression ranking information instead of absolute gene expression levels to address batch effects of diverse data sources.

Colorectal cancer‐derived FGF19 is a metabolically active serum biomarker that exerts enteroendocrine effects on mouse liver

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Meta‐transcriptome analysis identified FGF19 as a peptide enteroendocrine hormone associated with colorectal cancer prognosis. In vivo xenograft models showed release of FGF19 into the blood at levels that correlated with tumor volumes. Tumoral‐FGF19 altered murine liver metabolism through FGFR4, thereby reducing bile acid synthesis and increasing ...

Small bounding-box filter for small target detection

Optical Engineering, 2021
To detect small infrared targets under the condition of dense clutters, we propose a single-frame target detection algorithm based on a small bounding-box filter, which is characterized by good adaptability to the position and size of a small target. During the small target detection process, the proposed algorithm first searches for the local maximum ...

Small Target Detection Using Optical Flow

2021 IEEE Aerospace Conference (50100), 2021
Detection of small and dim infrared targets plays an important role in many imaging applications. In space imaging, natural phenomena, such as clouds, can confound detection methods. This can be mitigated by using methods which leverage information from multiple spectral bands.

Small target detection using wavelets

Proceedings. Fourteenth International Conference on Pattern Recognition (Cat. No.98EX170), 2002
Presents a method for the detection of small objects embedded in a noisy background. The detection is performed on the wavelet transformed image. After a preliminary de-noising pass, the objects are separated from background by exploiting the evaluation of Renyi's information at the different decomposition levels of the wavelet transform.
