Shape memory thermoplastic natural rubber for novel splint applications

open access: yeseXPRESS Polymer Letters, 2021
Shape memory polymer (SMP) based on thermoplastic natural rubber (TPNR) for soft-touch splint application has been successfully developed. The main aim was to investigate the proper phase combination between thermoplastic (i.e., polycaprolactone (PCL ...

Micropatterned Biphasic Printed Electrodes for High‐Fidelity on‐Skin Bioelectronics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Micropatterned biphasic printed electrodes achieve unprecedented skin conformity and low impedance by combining liquid‐metal droplets with microstructured 3D lattices. This scalable approach enables high‐fidelity detection of ECG, EMG, and EEG signals, including alpha rhythms from the forehead, with long‐term comfort and stability.

Shape-Stabilized Phase Change Material via In Situ Solid–Liquid Host–Guest Composite Strategy

open access: yesMolecules
Solid–liquid phase change materials (PCMs) have attracted significant attention due to their high enthalpy, which enables superior energy storage density. However, it is difficult to maintain their original shapes in a molten state.

Comprehensive study on estimation of gamma-ray exposure buildup factors for smart polymers as a potent application in nuclear industries

open access: yesResults in Physics, 2018
In the present study, the exposure buildup factors (EBF) have been investigated using geometric progression (G-P) fitting method for different types of smart polymers (DMSO, PDMS, PES, PMA, PVDC, and PVDF) in the energy range of 0.015–15 MeV.

Prospects of Electric Field Control in Perpendicular Magnetic Tunnel Junctions and Emerging 2D Spintronics for Ultralow Energy Memory and Logic Devices

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Electric control of magnetic tunnel junctions offers a path to drastically reduce the energy requirements of the device. Electric field control of magnetization can be realized in a multitude of ways. These mechanisms can be integrated into existing spintronic devices to further reduce the operational energy.

Electrochromic properties of a poly(dithienylfuran) derivative featuring a redox-active dithiin unit [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
A teraryl monomer containing a 1,4-dithiin-furan central unit has been synthesised and characterised by single crystal X-ray crystallography. The di(thienyl)furan monomer 11 was successfully polymerised electrochemically and shown to possess a lower ...
