Transforming Smart Vehicles and Smart Homes into Private Diagnostic Spaces [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the 2020 2nd Asia Pacific Information Technology Conference, 2020
The aging societies require disruptive technologies and digitization of health is one of these. Similar to the controller area network bus of (smart) cars we have developed a bus-based system for smart homes. We consider both, vehicles and homes as private spaces, which, in contrast to smart wearables or smart clothes, provide sufficient power supply ...

A Novel Data-Energy Management Algorithm for Smart Transformers to Optimize the Total Load Demand in Smart Homes

open access: yesEnergies, 2020
The increased integration of Electric Vehicles (EVs) into the distribution network can create severe issues—especially when demand response programs and time-varying electricity prices are applied, EVs tend to charge during the off-peak time to minimize ...

Voltage Profile Analysis in Smart Grids Using Online Estimation Algorithm

open access: yesJournal of Electrical and Computer Engineering, 2022
Voltage rise is the main obstacle to prevent the increase of distributed generators (DGs) in low-voltage (LV) distribution grids. In order to maintain the power quality and voltage levels within the tolerance limit, new measurement techniques and ...

Circular RNA expression landscapes in myelodysplastic neoplasms: Associations with mutational signatures and disease progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
In this explorative study, the abundance of circular RNA molecules in bone marrow stem cells was found to be elevated in patients with high‐risk myelodysplastic neoplasms, and to be associated with an increased risk of progression to acute myeloid leukemia.

Real-Time Testing Optimal Power Flow in Smart-Transformer-Based Meshed Hybrid Microgrids: Design and Validation

open access: yesEnergies
The smart transformer (ST) is a multiport and multi-stage converter that allows for the formation of meshed hybrid microgrids (MHMs) by enabling AC-DC ports in medium and low voltage.

KDM7A and KDM1A inhibition suppresses tumour promoting pathways in prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Treatment resistance is a major challenge for patients with advanced prostate cancer. This study examined an alternative approach to target the major prostate cancer‐promoting pathway by targeting epigenetic factors, whose levels are higher in tumours.
