Autophagy Activators Normalize Aberrant Tau Proteostasis and Rescue Synapses in Human Familial Alzheimer's Disease iPSC‐Derived Cortical Organoids

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A new cerebrocortical organoid model using isogenic hiPSCs with familial Alzheimer's mutations recapitulates key AD features, including amyloid‐beta and phospho‐Tau aggregation, neuronal hyperexcitability, and synapse loss. Single‐cell RNA‐seq reveals aberrant pathways in excitatory and inhibitory neurons.

Finite size and intrinsic field effect on the polar-active properties of the ferroelectric-semiconductor heterostructures

open access: yes, 2009
Using Landau-Ginzburg-Devonshire approach we calculated the equilibrium distributions of electric field, polarization and space charge in the ferroelectric-semiconductor heterostructures containing proper or incipient ferroelectric thin films.

Scanning electron microscopic evaluation of smear layer removal at the apical third of root canals using diode laser, endoActivator, and ultrasonics with chitosan: An in vitro study

open access: yesJournal of Conservative Dentistry, 2019
Aim: The aim of this study was to compare the effect of diode laser, endoActivator, and passive ultrasonics for smear layer removal at the apical third from root canals with 0.2% chitosan.

Irgm1 Improves Postinfarction Cardiac Repair by Promoting Neutrophil Clearance and Efferocytosis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The Irgm1‐PDIA3 axis enhances post‐infarction cardiac repair by accelerating neutrophil clearance and facilitating efferocytosis. Irgm1 holds potential as a prognostic biomarker in MI, and LOC14 may represent a therapeutic option to improve cardiac repair, especially in cases of Irgm1 deficiency.

Laser‐Induced Ultrafast Magnetic Phase Transition in 2D Van Der Waals Antiferromagnetic Heterostructures

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this work, ultrafast laser‐induced spin transfer and spin relaxation dynamics in 2D van der Waals antiferromagnetic CrI3/CrGeTe3 heterostructures are investigated. Laser excitation is demonstrated to induce pronounced interlayer nonequilibrium spin dynamics and ultrafast magnetic moment reconstruction, driving a transition from an antiferromagnetic (

Large Broadening of the Superconducting Transition by Fluctuations in a 3D Metal at High Magnetic Fields: The MgB$_{2}$ case

open access: yes, 2004
It is shown that the transition to the low temperature superconducting state in a 3D metal at high magnetic field is smeared dramatically by thermal fluctuation of the superconducting order parameter.

In vitro effect of XP-Endo finisher on the amount of residual debris and smear layer on the root canal walls

open access: yesDental Research Journal, 2019
Background: A successful endodontic treatment depends on efficient cleaning and shaping and effective irrigation of root canals. The irrigating solution may not be effective in some areas in the canal.

A Deep Representation Learning Method for Quantitative Immune Defense Function Evaluation and Its Clinical Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ImmuDef, a novel algorithm to quantitatively evaluate the anti‐infection immune defense function of an individual based on RNA‐seq data via a variational autoencoder (VAE) model. It is validated on 3200+ samples across four immune states with high accuracy. It can serve as a metric for disease severity and prognosis across pathogenic cohorts.

Oscillations of the superconducting critical current in Nb-Cu-Ni-Cu-Nb junctions

open access: yes, 2002
We report on experimental studies of superconductor-ferromagnet layered structures. Strong oscillations of the critical supercurrent were observed with the thickness variation of the ferromagnet.

Smear Layer Removal and Microhardness Alteration Potential of a Naturally Occurring Antioxidant – An In Vitro Study

open access: yesCureus, 2019
Introduction: It is well-known in the field of endodontics that the presence of a smear layer in the root canals can harbor bacteria and limit the penetration of irrigating solutions and intracanal medications into the dentinal tubules which, in turn ...
