Ionometallurgy step‐electrodeposition can allow separate deposition of metals with sufficiently distinct electrochemical potential from mixtures of ZnO, PbO, and MgO dissolved in betainium bis((trifluoromethyl)sulfonyl)imide ([Hbet][NTf2]) to a large extend. Zinc can also be deposited on 3D copper foam (Zn/3DCu) to directly assemble a high‐voltage zinc‐

Synthesis, crystal structure and structure–property relations of strontium orthocarbonate, Sr2CO4
A new orthocarbonate, Sr2CO4, was synthesized under extreme pressure and temperature conditions of 92 GPa and 2500 K, respectively. The crystal structure of the compound s fully characterized in situ by synchrotron single‐crystal X‐ray diffraction and DFT calculations were employed to provide insight into its equation of state, Raman and IR spectra ...

Thermodynamic Description of Oxidized Zinc Minerals and Comparative Analysis of Their Reactivity
Due to depletion of sulfide zinc ores, the problem of involvement of economically significant oxidized zinc ores into the treatment is a vital task. In this article, the thermodynamic functions have been considered and determined for many oxidized zinc ...

Zinc K-edge XANES spectroscopy of mineral and organic standards. [PDF]
Zinc K‐edge XANES reference standards of zinc mineral samples and organic compounds are presented.Zinc K‐edge X‐ray absorption near‐edge (XANES) spectroscopy was conducted on 40 zinc mineral samples and organic compounds. The K‐edge position varied from 9660.5 to 9666.0 eV and a variety of distinctive peaks at higher post‐edge energies were exhibited ...

Raman spectroscopy of smithsonite [PDF]
AbstractRaman spectroscopy at both 298 and 77 K has been used to study a series of selected natural smithsonites from different origins. An intense sharp band at 1092 cm−1 is assigned to the CO32− symmetric stretching vibration. Impurities of hydrozincite are identified by a band around 1060 cm−1.

Synthesis and vibrational spectroscopic characterisation of synthetic hydrozincite and smithsonite [PDF]
Hydrozincite and smithsonite were synthesised by controlling the partial pressure of CO2 . Previous crystallographic studies concluded that the structure of hydrozincite was a simple one.

Critical elements in nonsulphide Zn deposits: A reanalysis of the Kabwe Zn-Pb ores (central Zambia) [PDF]
The Kabwe Zn-Pb deposit (central Zambia) consists of a cluster of mixed sulfide and non-sulfide orebodies. The sulfide ores comprise sphalerite, galena, pyrite, chalcopyrite and accessory Ge-sulfides (±Ga and In).
