Peroxidasin enables melanoma immune escape by inhibiting natural killer cell cytotoxicity

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.

DNA methylation and expression of MAPRE3 affect overall survival of early‐stage non‐small cell lung cancer patients

Both cg12821679MAPRE3 methylation and MAPRE3 expression are significantly associated with overall survival (OS) of non‐small cell lung cancer. Meanwhile, MAPRE3 expression significantly modified the effect of smoking cessation on OS. Smoking cessation benefits OS merely for patients with high MAPRE3 expression.

FGFR Like1 drives esophageal cancer progression via EMT, PI3K/Akt, and notch signalling: insights from clinical data and next‐generation sequencing analysis

Clinical analysis reveals significant dysregulation of FGFRL1 in esophageal cancer (EC) patients. RNAi‐coupled next‐generation sequencing (NGS) and in vitro study reveal FGFRL1‐mediated EC progression via EMT, PI3K/Akt, and Notch pathways. Functional assays confirm its role in tumor growth, migration, and invasion.

On smoke suppression of clouds in Amazonia [PDF]

We use large eddy simulations of smoke‐cloud interactions to demonstrate the relative importance of various factors responsible for cloud suppression in the biomass burning regions of Amazonia. The model includes unprecedented treatment of coupled smoke aerosol‐cloud‐radiative feedbacks in a 3‐dimensional model that resolves scales of ∼100s m.
