RESEARCH AREAS OF THE UNESCO CHAIR ON NEW INFORMATION TECHNOLOGIES. PART 2. MESHLESS METHODS

open access: yesВестник Кемеровского государственного университета, 2013
This paper provides an overview of the main results of solving the nonlinear free-boundary hydrodynamic problems with meshless methods. Special attention is paid to computations using the Natural Element Methods and Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics.

Bio‐Inspired Micro‐Fin‐Assisted Multi‐Modal Vascular Intervention

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A magnetic guidewire with a micro‐fin–integrated tip is introduced for multimodal cardiovascular navigation. The micro‐fins exploit fluid drag to augment magnetic torque, enabling bifurcation traversal at 15 mT, tolerating 45° misalignment, bidirectional crawling, and buckle self‐correction.

Smoothed particle hydrodynamics for modeling nutrient transport in shallow lakes

open access: yesResults in Engineering
This study aimed to investigate the spatiotemporal characteristics of water quality in shallow lakes and simulate complex pollutant transport by developing the Nutrient Simulation Modules I (NSMI) based on the SWE-SPH (Shallow Water Equation, SWE ...

Miniature Robotic Swimmer with Precise 2D Motion Control via Acoustic Vortex‐Induced Propulsion

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In this work, a miniature robotic swimmer achieves precise 2D motion using sound waves with customized 3D‐printed lenses. Localized acoustic vortices drive both translation and rotation of the swimmer without mechanical parts. This contactless approach offers a novel route to controlled micro‐scale movement, with promising applications in biomedical ...

An Adaptive SPH Method (ADP‐SPH) for Simulating Solute Transport in Heterogeneous Aquifers

open access: yesWater Resources Research
Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics (SPH) is a meshfree, Lagrangian‐based approach used to solve the advection‐dispersion equation (ADE) of groundwater solute transport.
