Tests of Spurious Transport in Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics [PDF]
We have performed a series of systematic tests to evaluate the effects of spurious transport in three-dimensional smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) calculations.

Charge‐Induced Morphing Gels for Bioinspired Actuation
This study introduces a novel electroactive actuation mechanism that enables the gel material to generate substantial and reversible shape‐changing while preserving topological and isochoric (volumetric) equivalence. The resultant morphing behaviors can mimic the movements of muscle‐driven organelles in nature, including cilia‐like beating and ...

Computational Simulation of Aneurysms Using Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics
Modeling and simulation of aneurysm formation, growth, and rupture plays an essential role in a wide spectrum of application scenarios, ranging from risk stratification to stability prediction, and from clinical decision-making to treatment innovation ...

3D Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics Models of Betelgeuse's Bow Shock
Betelgeuse, the bright red supergiant (RSG) in Orion, is a runaway star. Its supersonic motion through the interstellar medium has resulted in the formation of a bow shock, a cometary structure pointing in the direction of motion. We present the first 3D

Apatite occurs in many forms in nature, e.g. in teeth and geological minerals. Internally, biological apatite contains nanocrystals that are also found in synthetically prepared calcium phosphate nanoparticles which are used in biomedicine, e.g. for gene and drug delivery and for bone regeneration. Abstract Calcium phosphate is the inorganic component (

Thermodynamically admissible form for discrete hydrodynamics
We construct a discrete model of fluid particles according to the GENERIC formalism. The model has the form of Smoothed Particle Hydrodynamics including correct thermal fluctuations.

Droplet Triboelectrification on Liquid‐Like Polymer Brushes
This work investigates the triboelectrification of water droplets on polymer brush‐coated surfaces exhibiting minimal contact line pinning. Such surfaces enable the systematic study of electrode patterning and controlled changes in droplet contact area.

Scaling laws for implicit viscosities in smoothed particle hydrodynamics
Smoothed particle hydrodynamics (SPH) is a particle-based method which solves continuum equations such as the Navier-Stokes equations. A periodic fluidic system under homogeneous shear is studied using SPH in the present work.

Degradable Polyphosphoester (PPE) gradient copolymers (GCPs) are synthesized via one‐pot copolymerization. We show that GCPs self‐assemble into nanostructures like polymersomes, effectively mimicking the behavior of traditional BCPs. The gradient strength is key, with softer gradients favoring micelles.
