ABSTRACT This study explored the association between the composite dietary antioxidant index (CDAI) and cardiovascular‐kidney‐metabolic (CKM) progression in an older population. Using data from NHANES 2001–2020, we analyzed 4974 adults aged ≥ 60 years with CKM syndrome. The CDAI was calculated from the intake of six dietary antioxidants.

Rapid and quantitative phage susceptibility test by ramanome
Abstract Antimicrobial resistance poses an escalating global threat, renewing interest in bacteriophage therapy as a precision alternative to antibiotics. However, clinical translation remains hindered by the lack of rapid and quantitative phage susceptibility testing (PST) platforms capable of evaluating host range, infection potency, and effective ...

Taxonomic reappraisal of the mangrove genus Avicennia (Acanthaceae) in India
A taxonomic reappraisal of the mangrove genus Avicennia in India was undertaken through extensive field surveys and critical examination of herbarium specimens. Three taxa, Avicennia alba, Avicennia marina subsp. marina, and Avicennia officinalis, are described in detail. A synonymic list was compiled using the World Checklist of Vascular Plants (WCVP)

Estimation and Inference for Threshold Effects in Panel Data Stochastic Frontier Models
One of the most enduring problems in cross-section or panel data models is heterogeneity among individual observations. Different approaches have been proposed to deal with this issue, but threshold regression models offer intuitively appealing ...

Amanita theophili sp. nov. (Amanitaceae) from central Mexico
Amanita theophili sp. nov., a member of Amanita sect. Amidella (Amanitaceae), is described from temperate pine‐oak forests in Morelos, central Mexico. Morphological features and phylogenetic analyses based on ITS and 28S rDNA sequences confirm its distinct taxonomic status. The new species is morphologically similar to A. peckiana and A.

Bootstrap approximation of nearest neighbor regression function estimates
Let (X, Y) be a random vector in the plane and denote by m(x) = (YX = x) the corresponding regression function. We show that the bootstrap approximation for the distribution of a smoothed nearest neighbor estimate of m(x) is valid.

Biosurfactant was produced by Pseudomonas aeruginosa using andiroba waste from Amazonia. A biosurfactant–alginate composite (Alg/BioS) was successfully synthesized via ionotropic gelation, and achieved up to 70% Cr6+ removal from water. Abstract Environmental contamination by heavy metals represents a significant challenge due to their persistence in ...
