Performance Analysis of Abradable Coating Systems for Aircraft Gas Turbines
Three CoNiCrAlY/YSZ/MgAl2O4 abradable liner configurations on a nickel‐superalloy are evaluated by thermal‐gradient cycling and incursion tests. Laser ablation of the bondcoat and/or Y2O3‐stabilized ZrO2 (YSZ) intermediate layer increases mechanical interlocking and bonding for thick topcoats.

Multi-Parameter-Setting Based on Data Original Distribution for DENCLUE Optimization
DENCLUE is a typical density-based clustering method, and it also is an important pattern classification analysis technique. In this clustering method, the propriety of parameters’ values greatly influences the quality of distinguishing ...

Smoothing: Local Regression Techniques [PDF]
Smoothing methods attempt to find functional relationships between different measurements. As in the standard regression setting, the data is assumed to consist of measurements of a response variable, and one or more predictor variables.

Additive manufacturing provides precise control over the placement of continuous fibres within polymer matrices, enabling customised mechanical performance in composite components. This article explores processing strategies, mechanical testing, and modelling approaches for additive manufactured continuous fibre‐reinforced composites.

Automatic forecasting with a modified exponential smoothing state space framework [PDF]
A new automatic forecasting procedure is proposed based on a recent exponential smoothing framework which incorporates a Box-Cox transformation and ARMA residual corrections.

Smoothing parameter selection in two frameworks for penalized splines [PDF]
There are two popular smoothing parameter selection methods for spline smoothing. First, criteria that approximate the average mean squared error of the estimator (e.g. generalized cross validation) are widely used.

Smoothing parameter selection in semiparametric regression models with censored data
WOS: 000411445200024In this paper, we introduce penalized spline estimators for the unknown function and a parameter vector in a semiparametric regression model with right censored data.

Robust Spot Melting by 3D Spot Arrangements in Electron Beam Powder Bed Fusion
This work proposes an approach to replace separately melted contours for spot melting in electron beam powder fusion. Adapting the spot arrangements close to the contour combined with stacking yields a comparable surface quality without the inherent challenges of separate contours, as demonstrated, by electron optical images and roughness measurements.

Resistant Nonparametric Smoothing with S-PLUS
In this paper we introduce and illustrate the use of an S-PLUS set of functions to fit M-type smoothing splines with the smoothing parameter chosen by a robust criterion (either a robust version of cross-validation or a robust version of Mallows's Cp ...

On parameter estimation for locally stationary long-memory processes [PDF]
We consider parameter estimation for time-dependent locally stationary long-memory processes. The asymptotic distribution of an estimator based on the local infinite autoregressive representation is derived, and asymptotic formulas for the mean squared ...
