Changes of Potential Suitable Areas for Lynx Under Climate Change in Mohe Area, Daxing'anling Mountains, China 气候变化下中国大兴安岭漠河地区猞猁潜在适宜区的变化

open access: yesWildlife Letters, EarlyView.
Climate change drives shifts in suitable habitats for Eurasian lynx and its prey (hare, roe deer) in Mohe, Daxing'anling Mountains. Under RCP scenarios, moderate warming (RCP4.5) promotes substantial habitat expansion, while high‐emission conditions (RCP8.5) lead to strong expansion in the 2050s but slower gains and partial contraction by the 2070s ...

When variability is not failure: Rethinking wildlife management in nonstationary systems

open access: yesWildlife Society Bulletin, EarlyView.
Departures from historical baselines do not always signal population decline. Under directional environmental change, variability in reproduction, migration, and distribution may instead reflect adaptive responses. Effective conservation requires managers to reinterpret variability, incorporate cognitively and institutionally diverse perspectives, and ...

Localized resources enable noninvasive genetic monitoring of small populations of mountain ungulates

open access: yesWildlife Society Bulletin, EarlyView.
Using microsatellite analysis of fecal samples collected at mineral licks from 2019–2022, we assessed abundance, apparent survival and genetics of bighorn sheep in the Teton Range, Wyoming, USA. Annual abundance estimates ranged from 118−132 individuals split into 2 similar‐sized demes and apparent survival estimates ranged from 0.72–0.92.

Roaring to Go: Engagement With Positive Reinforcement Training as a Valid and Reliable Indicator of Positive Welfare in Zoo Big Cats

open access: yesZoo Biology, EarlyView.
A figure summarising the information conveyed by the abstract in graphical form ABSTRACT Engagement with positive reinforcement training is a non‐invasive, easily recorded, and valid indicator of welfare in captive bottlenose dolphins. However, despite the ubiquitousness of training programs in zoo‐housed mammals in accredited zoos, this metric has yet

Robust Multi‐Source Batch Normalisation for Test‐Time Batch Adaptation

open access: yesCAAI Transactions on Intelligence Technology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Test‐Time Batch Adaptation (TTBA) aims to adapt a pre‐trained source model to small, unlabelled target batches at test time. The TTBA methods focus on adapting the pre‐trained model or the target data in a one‐to‐one alignment paradigm. However, these one‐to‐one alignment paradigms assume that the source domain may share the same knowledge ...
