Turbo-decoding without SNR estimation

IEEE Communications Letters, 2000
Theoretically, it is necessary to estimate the SNR when using a MAP of the log-MAP constituent decoder. The effect of an SNR mismatch on the bit error rate performance of turbo-codes and the design of good variance estimators have been addressed by several authors.

Improving SNR Estimation for Autonomous Receivers

IEEE Transactions on Communications, 2005
A method by which a popular signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) estimator can be reconfigured to yield improved performance is proposed. The reconfiguration consists of partitioning the symbol interval into a larger (but even) number of subdivisions than the two that have been traditionally suggested for this estimator but still processing the observables in ...

Improved SNR Estimation Algorithm

2017 International Conference on Computer Systems, Electronics and Control (ICCSEC), 2017
As for several NDA SNR estimation algorithm for QPSK signal, their SNR estimation performance is poor. This article puts forward an improved low complexity SNR estimation algorithm to improve the SNR estimation range and accuracy. The mean, bias and variance of the new algorithm are simulated.

An SNR-Assisted Crosstalk Channel Estimation Technique

open access: yes2009 IEEE International Conference on Communications, 2009
In this paper, we present a new method to estimate the crosstalk channels in VDSL systems, allowing to implement well-known pre-compensation schemes. As opposed to previously presented methods, this estimation only requires minimal changes to the current standard and equipments.
