Two‐Step Commutation Scheme for Isolated Matrix Converters with Reduced H‐Bridge Voltage Spikes and Ringing

open access: yesIET Power Electronics, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
ABSTRACT A current‐source converter (CSC)‐derived AC/DC matrix‐type converter is well‐suited for applications requiring a wide range of battery or three‐phase AC voltages. However, the H‐bridge side of the isolated CSC matrix converter suffers from large voltage spikes and ringing.

Experimental Evaluation on the Influence of RCD Snubbers in a 3-Level Thyristor Based MLCR CSC

open access: yesJournal of Engineering, 2016
Multilevel current reinjection (MLCR) concept provides self-commutation capability to thyristors, enabling thyristor based current source converters (CSC) to operate under negative firing angle. It also lowers the input current harmonic distortion.

Single‐Phase Non‐Isolated Interleaved DCM Boost Rectifier With High Power Factor and ZVS Based on TAIPEI Rectifier

open access: yesIET Power Electronics, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
This paper proposes modifying the Taipei rectifier into a single‐phase version. The rectifier utilizes two boost cells operating in discontinuous‐conduction mode (DCM), separated by a virtual neutral. Frequency modulation (FM) is applied to switch‐on the transistors with zero‐voltage‐switching (ZVS) and maintain a balanced voltage at the output ...

Asynchronous Gating Strategy for Auxiliary‐Free Soft Switching in Parallel‐Active Interleaved Buck Converter

open access: yesIET Power Electronics, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
This paper proposes a novel asynchronous gating strategy to achieve auxiliary‐free Zero‐Voltage and Zero‐Current Switching (ZVS/ZCS) in conventional parallel‐active switch interleaved buck converters. ABSTRACT Conventional interleaved buck converters frequently rely on bulky resonant networks to achieve soft switching.

Design and Fabrication of Modified Y‐Source DC–DC Two‐Input Converter With Soft‐Switching Capability to Implement in Renewable Energy System

open access: yesIET Renewable Power Generation, Volume 20, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
In this paper, a new two‐input converter is proposed. The proposed topology utilises two sources, a renewable energy source and a battery, which enhances system stability and steady‐state performance. The battery serves as an energy reservoir, allowing utilisation during times when other sources are disconnected or cannot meet the desired output power.

A Novel ALTSRCFNN‐STSMC Approach for Enhancing Ride‐Through in Hybrid Renewable Systems

open access: yesIET Renewable Power Generation, Volume 20, Issue 1, January/December 2026.
Simulation results demonstrate that the proposed method reduces voltage recovery time by approximately 25% and improves transient voltage stability by about 15% while satisfying low‐voltage ride‐through (LVRT) grid code requirements. ABSTRACT This paper develops a hybrid adaptive control framework for improving low‐voltage ride‐through (LVRT ...
