A Situational Analysis and an Action Strategy for the Circular Economy in the Textile Industry

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study examines the transition from the traditional Linear Economy to the Circular Economy model, focusing on the Spanish textile industry. Given the sector's significant environmental impact, characterized by pollution, excessive water consumption, high waste generation, and the use of harmful materials, circularity emerges as a crucial ...

Sustainability as Justice: Making the “Leave No One Behind” Work

open access: yesSustainable Development, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This paper critically engages with the LNOB principle of the 2030 Agenda, highlighting its conceptual, methodological, and structural limitations. Building on Amartya Sen's social choice theory and Rawlsian justice, it reconceptualizes “sustainability as justice,” emphasizing real‐world comparative assessments grounded in intersectionality. It

Automated Covalent Microcontact Bioprinting of Lubricant‐Infused Microarrays for Biological Assays

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
The microcontact bioprinting protocol, through industrial risk assessment and optimization, has allowed to achieve scalability and automation of lubricant‐infused microarray fabrication. Additionally, bacteriophage microarrays created with this protocol showed preserved lytic activity and self‐propagation ability after bioprinting through an 2,3‐bis‐(2‐

One‐Step Tunable Human Hair Keratin Gradient Hydrogel with Antibacterial Activity for Tissue Engineering

open access: yesSmall, EarlyView.
A gradient hydrogel made from human hair extracted keratins is formed via a diffusion‐mediated silver‐thiolate complexation process, driven by keratin's naturally occurring high cysteine content. This single‐step platform offers tunable gradient hydrogel properties, antibacterial activity, and supports extracellular matrix production in vitro. Enhanced

Tuning the Air Stability of N‐Type Semiconductors via Poly(2‐vinylpyridine): The Importance of Humidity and Molecular Weight

open access: yesSmall Science, EarlyView.
Blending the n‐type polymer P(NDI2OD‐T2) with hygroscopic poly(2‐vinylpyridine) (P2VP) improves device stability by limiting oxygen diffusion. Higher molecular weight P2VP forms larger domains that absorb moisture, reduce free volume for oxygen, and partition oxygen away from semiconductor crystallites.
