Abstract We investigate an initial‐boundary value problem of non‐isothermal nematic liquid crystal flows with temperature‐dependent viscosity in three‐dimensional bounded domains. Based on the time‐weighted energy estimates, we derive the existence of a unique global strong solution under some smallness condition.

Frequency‐dependent contraction rates for the Bayesian method to the inverse source problem
Abstract This paper addresses an inverse source problem for acoustic waves in a range of frequencies. Our study has two main goals. First, although the problem is severely ill‐posed with a logarithmic stability estimate, we demonstrate, through careful analysis of the forward map's singular values, that increasing the frequency range enhances stability,

General optimal euclidean Sobolev and Gagliardo-Nirenberg inequalities
We prove general optimal euclidean Sobolev and Gagliardo-Nirenberg inequalities by using mass transportation and convex analysis results. Explicit extremals and the computation of some optimal constants are also provided.

An improvement to the John-Nirenberg inequality for functions in critical Sobolev spaces
It is known that functions in a Sobolev space with critical exponent embed into the space of functions of bounded mean oscillation, and therefore satisfy the John-Nirenberg inequality and a corresponding exponential integrability estimate.

Gagliardo-Nirenberg-type inequalities using fractional Sobolev spaces and Besov spaces
Our main purpose is to establish Gagliardo-Nirenberg-type inequalities using fractional homogeneous Sobolev spaces and homogeneous Besov spaces. In particular, we extend some of the results obtained by the authors in previous studies.

Inverse problems for semilinear elliptic PDE with a general nonlinearity a(x,u)$a(x,u)$
Abstract This article studies the inverse problem of recovering a nonlinearity in an elliptic equation Δu+a(x,u)=0$\Delta u + a(x,u) = 0$ from boundary measurements of solutions. Previous results based on first‐order linearization achieve this under a sign condition on ∂ua(x,u)$\partial _u a(x,u)$, and results based on higher order linearization ...

Critical and subcritical fractional Trudinger–Moser-type inequalities on ℝ\mathbb{R}
In this paper, we are concerned with the critical and subcritical Trudinger–Moser-type inequalities for functions in a fractional Sobolev space H1/2,2{H^{1/2,2}} on the whole real line.

A NOTE ON THE SUBLINEAR SOBOLEV INEQUALITY [PDF]
In this note we show that the classical Sobolev inequality cannot in unrestricted form hold for exponents $p \in (0,1)$.

On Compressible Fluid Flows of Forchheimer‐Type in Rotating Heterogeneous Porous Media
ABSTRACT We study the dynamics of compressible fluids in rotating heterogeneous porous media. The fluid flow is of Forchheimer‐type and is subject to a mixed mass and volumetric flux boundary condition. The governing equations are reduced to a nonlinear partial differential equation for the pseudo‐pressure.
