State self-earned income and welfare provision in China [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
Local governments in China in the 1990s relied increasingly on self-earned income, but little is known about the impact of this on the provision of public goods, especially in wealthy urban areas.

Engineering the Metal/Oxide Interfacial O‐Filling Effect to Tailor Oxygen Spillover for Efficient Acidic Water Oxidation

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The oxygen spillover from Ir to the oxide support with interfacial oxygen vacancies during OER is revealed. These interfacial oxygen vacancies as an oxygen transport zone not only regulate the in situ Ir catalytic structure toward boosted activity but also suppress Ir over‐oxidation via directional OH‐filling effects, thereby ensuring overall high ...

Income-Related Inequality in Traffic Accident Health Outcomes (Injury, Disability and Mortality): Evidence from the Nationwide Survey in Iran

open access: yesIranian Journal of Public Health, 2020
Background: Despite many efforts, Iran continues to have a high rate of traffic accidents and poor health outcomes. This study aimed to measure income-related inequality for traffic accident health outcomes in Iran, a country with one of the highest ...

Carbon Nanotube 3D Integrated Circuits: From Design to Applications

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
As Moore's law approaches its physical limits, carbon nanotube (CNT) 3D integrated circuits (ICs) emerge as a promising alternative due to the miniaturization, high mobility, and low power consumption. CNT 3D ICs in optoelectronics, memory, and monolithic ICs are reviewed while addressing challenges in fabrication, design, and integration.

Active Learning‐Driven Discovery of Sub‐2 Nm High‐Entropy Nanocatalysts for Alkaline Water Splitting

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
High‐entropy nanoparticles (HENPs) hold great promise for electrocatalysis, yet optimizing their compositions remains challenging. This study employs active learning and Bayesian Optimization to accelerate the discovery of octonary HENPs for hydrogen and oxygen evolution reactions.

Alleviation of Aging‐Related Hallmarks in a Mouse Model of Progeria via a Nanoparticle‐Based Artificial Transcription Factor

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Oct4‐nanoscript, a biomimetic nanoparticle‐based artificial transcription factor, precisely regulates cellular rejuvenation by activating Oct4 target genes, restoring epigenetic marks, and reducing DNA damage. In a progeria model, it effectively rescued aging‐associated pathologies and extended lifespan.

Social Welfare Maximization in Approval-Based Committee Voting under Uncertainty [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Approval voting is widely used for making multi-winner voting decisions. The canonical rule (also called Approval Voting) used in the setting aims to maximize social welfare by selecting candidates with the highest number of approvals. We revisit approval-based multi-winner voting in scenarios where the information regarding the voters' preferences is ...
