Profiling the effect of low frequency mechanical vibration on the metabolic and oxidative stress responses of A431 carcinoma

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
20 Hz mechanical vibration induced A431 cancer cells' apoptosis without such effect on other healthy cell lines of L929 and C2C12. Lowered glucose consumption is observed specifically in A431. The expressions of ROS, HMGB1, and HSP1 levels initially increase and subsequently decrease in the cancer cell line, as opposed to L929 and C2C12, which ...

Confidence in preferences [PDF]

open access: yes
Indeterminate preferences have long been a tricky subject for choice theory. One reason for which preferences may be less than fully determinate is the lack of confidence in one’s preferences.

GDP‐fucose transporter SLC35C1: a potential regulatory role in cytosolic GDP‐fucose and fucosylated glycan synthesis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The inactivation of SLC35C1 (GDP‐fucose transporter) and enzymes involved in GDP‐fucose biosynthesis was studied. Fucose supplementation increases the level of GDP‐fucose to abnormal, millimolar values in the absence of the TSTA3 protein and SLC35C1 in contrast to the GMDS/SLC35C1 double mutant.

Judge:Don't Vote! [PDF]

open access: yes
This article explains why the traditional model of the theory of social choice misrepresents reality, it cannot lead to acceptable methods of ranking and electing in any case, and a more realistic model leads inevitably to one method of ranking and ...

Arrow: la elección, los valores y la ideología del mercado Arrow: choice, values and the ideology of the market

Stereotactic radiosurgery for multiple small brain metastases using gamma knife versus single‐isocenter VMAT: Normal brain dose based on lesion number and size

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, EarlyView.
Abstract Purpose The study evaluates rapid linear accelerator (Linac) single isocenter stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) with Hyperarc for large target numbers. We compared to Gamma Knife (GK), which suffers from long treatment times and investigated causes of differences. Methods Linac SRS and GK treatment plans for patients receiving 18 Gy to the gross
