Bridge the Gap: Measuring and Analyzing Technical Data for Social Trust between Smartphones [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2012
Mobiles are nowadays the most relevant communication devices in terms of quantity and flexibility. Like in most MANETs ad-hoc communication between two mobile phones requires mutual trust between the devices. A new way of establishing this trust conducts social trust from technically measurable data (e.g., interaction logs).

Mobile Conductance and Gossip-based Information Spreading in Mobile Networks [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2014
In this paper, we propose a general analytical framework for information spreading in mobile networks based on a new performance metric, mobile conductance, which allows us to separate the details of mobility models from the study of mobile spreading time. We derive a general result for the information spreading time in mobile networks in terms of this

Using Location-Based Social Networks to Validate Human Mobility and Relationships Models [PDF]

open access: yesProc. 2012 IEEE/ACM Int. Conf. Advances in Social Networks Analysis and Mining, Istanbul, Turkey, August 26, 2012, pp. 1247-1253, 2012
We propose to use social networking data to validate mobility models for pervasive mobile ad-hoc networks (MANETs) and delay tolerant networks (DTNs). The Random Waypoint (RWP) and Erdos-Renyi (ER) models have been a popular choice among researchers for generating mobility traces of nodes and relationships between them.

Moderators and mediators of pain and function outcomes in a new service delivery model for management of knee osteoarthritis in primary care (PARTNER): Secondary exploratory analysis of a randomized controlled trial

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, Accepted Article.
Objective Explore moderators and mediators influenced changes in pain and function in people with knee osteoarthritis (OA) receiving a new model of primary care service delivery (PARTNER), at 12 months (ACTRN12617001595303). Methods Secondary analyses of a cluster randomized controlled trial comparing PARTNER to usual general practitioner‐delivered ...
