open access: yesInnovative Issues and Approaches in Social Sciences, 2013
Dahrendorf’s conception of social differentiation poses some interesting theoretical problems inasmuch as it, owing to its putative associations with Marx’s framework, is regarded as a class theory, but in fact displays also some salient characteristics ...

The adaptation of Warner’s Index of Status Characteristics (ISC) [PDF]

open access: yesСоціологія, 2019
The paper notes weaknesses of current trends and approaches of modern class analysis, namely methodological globalism and the stratification approach. These approaches do not take into account characteristics of the respondent’s property (the prestige of

Social Stratification and Education: Case Studies Analysing Social Survey Data [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Social Stratification is an enduring influence in contemporary societies which shapes many outcomes over the lifecourse. Social Stratification is also a key mechanism by which social inequalities are transmitted from one generation to the next.

Pre‐analytical optimization of cell‐free DNA and extracellular vesicle‐derived DNA for mutation detection in liquid biopsies

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Pre‐analytical handling critically determines liquid biopsy performance. This study defines practical best‐practice conditions for cell‐free DNA (cfDNA) and extracellular vesicle–derived DNA (evDNA), showing how processing time, storage conditions, tube type, and plasma input volume affect DNA integrity and mutation detection.

Studies of Status and Occupational Stratification. The Italian case.

open access: yes, 2008
Main research results have been presented: with all comparison limits, occupations stratification schemes show same hierarchy and invariance on overall social ranking since 20 years; about criteria, security/ stability of job gets in the traditional ...

Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Intragenerational wage mobility and social disadvantage: A comparative study of West Germany and the United States

open access: yes, 2023
This article studies wage mobility during the early career in West Germany and the United States. We examine the extent of intragenerational wage fluctuations, whether they structure into upward mobility trends or remain volatile variations, and whether ...

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Establishment of a humanized patient‐derived xenograft mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer for preclinical evaluation of combination immunotherapy

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We have established a humanized orthotopic patient‐derived xenograft (Hu‐oPDX) mouse model of high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSOC) that recapitulates human tumor–immune interactions. Using combined anti‐PD‐L1/anti‐CD73 immunotherapy, we demonstrate the model's improved biological relevance and enhanced translational value for preclinical ...
