The calculation debate in socialist economies
, 2014 This thesis attempts to analyze the calculation debate in socialist planning. This issue was discussed, from the 1920s until the late 1940s, between economists of the Austrian School and socialist economists. The calculation debate can be defined as the discussion of the impossibility of efficient distribution of economic resources in planned economies.
