Shorter blue‐emitting carbon‐bridged oligo(p‐phenylenevinylene)s (COPVm, m = 1,2) encounter challenges with photostability and high lasing thresholds. This study demonstrates the effectiveness of σ‐π conjugation to improve these properties, through functionalization of COPV2 with terminal silyl group (COPV2–Si1 and COPV2–Si2).

Redox‐Active Bisphosphonate‐Based Viologens as Negolytes for Aqueous Organic Flow Batteries

Bisphosphonate‐substituted viologens (BBPE‐Vi and MBPE‐Vi) exhibit high solubility (1.45 M) and stability (0.009% capacity decay per cycle), making them effective for AOFBs. The bulky, negatively charged bisphosphonate groups reduce degradation through bimolecular side reactions, while their electron‐rich character in the deprotonated state effectively
