Local False Discovery Rate Based Methods for Multiple Testing of One-Way Classified Hypotheses
This paper continues the line of research initiated in \cite{Liu:Sarkar:Zhao:2016} on developing a novel framework for multiple testing of hypotheses grouped in a one-way classified form using hypothesis-specific local false discovery rates (Lfdr's).

Vascularization in bioprinted hydrogels is limited by nanoscale porosity in hydrogel bionks. Volumetric bioprinting of gelatin–norbornene phase‐separating hydrogels permits to create centimeter‐scale constructs featuring interconnected multi‐scale porosity. Light dose gradients result in spatially controlled pore dimensions. Capillary‐scale vessels are

Very small cellular compartments can break electroneutrality and harness proton gradients without active transport structures, whereas larger volumes cannot, underscoring why life's critical energy processes are confined in microscopic spaces. ABSTRACT The effect of pH changes in external ionic solutions on liposomes entrapping non‐permeable weak acid ...

Manufacturing Education for Society 5.0
The last 20 years have brought significant developments to digital fabrication technology, known as additive manufacturing (3D printing), and it has finally started to shed its prototyping mantel in favor of an industrial one. Yet its innovations are in danger of being subsumed into existing commercial practices, as society arguably continues to ...

Nanoporous Microelectrodes for Neural Electrophysiology Recordings in Organotypic Culture
The highly porous microelectrodes have been designed and printed on culture membranes, allowing to record electrophysiological neural activity for rodent brain slices. To keep the biocompatible nanoporous structure, the microelectrodes and insulative layer are fabricated on the bottom of culture membranes with only small connector pads added on the top.

Directed Navigation of Magnetotactic Bacteria via Magnetotaxis in a 3D Vasculature‐On‐A‐Chip
A perfusable vascular network is developed to investigate MTB at the single‐microorganism level. MTB is demonstrated to successfully align and navigate along the magnetic field inside the microvessels. Abstract Magnetotactic bacteria (MTB), inherently motile and self‐powered, are promising biorobotic candidates for targeted anti‐cancer drug delivery ...
