Prevalence and Genotype Distribution of Sapovirus in China: A Systematic Review and Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesGlobal Challenges, EarlyView.
This review highlights a distinct age‐related trend in Sapovirus (SaV) prevalence in China, peaking among kindergarten children and adults. These results not only enhance the understanding of SaV's epidemiology but also provide a robust foundation for estimating disease burden and informing the development of targeted vaccines and public health ...

Computational Perspectives on Amoxicillin and Staphylococcus Aureus in Mirror Life

open access: yesGlobal Challenges, EarlyView.
Mirror life is a possible incoming threat. PBP3 of S. aureus, a well‐known target of amoxicillin and other β‐lactam antibiotics, is investigated along with its mirror image showing that the enantiomeric target may elude currently available biocides. Computational tools are safe and reliable to investigate mirror‐life related aspects, either supporting ...

Bactericidal, Virucidal, and Biocompatible Properties of 3D Printed Materials Enhanced with Copper and Zinc Nanoparticles

open access: yesGlobal Challenges, EarlyView.
As population growth, urbanization, and climate change increase the spread of pathogens, hospital infections now affect 1 in 31 patients, costing billions annually. This study presents a new approach by integrating copper and zinc oxide nanoparticles into 3D‐printed materials.

Exploring Different Methods for Eco‐Friendly Wool Dyeing with Natural Carmine Dye and Waste Wool Hydrolysates

open access: yesGlobal Challenges, EarlyView.
Waste wool hydrolysates (WWHs), by‐product of the alkaline hydrolysis of waste wool are employed as coadjuvant in wool fabrics dyeing with Carmine natural dye. The results demonstrate the possibility of WWHs valorization as eco‐friendly alternative to metal‐based mordants in wool dyeing.

Negatively but Not Positively Charged Nanoceria Promoted Lateral Root Growth via Modulating the Distribution of Reactive Oxygen Species Rather than Auxin

open access: yesGlobal Challenges, EarlyView.
PNC promote lateral root formation throughmodulating the dirstribution of superoxide anion rather than auxin. Abstract Lateral root (LR) formation is important for plant growth. ROS (reactive oxygen species)play an important role in LR formation. While how nanomaterials affect ROS distribution to promote LR formation and the role of ROS in primordia in

Ferrihydrite Supported on Steel Slags as Catalyst for the Hydrogenation of Nitroarenes: A Virtuous Cycle of Wastes

open access: yesGlobal Challenges, EarlyView.
Highly alkaline steel slags coming from industrial sites in Apulia (Italy) have the property of transforming iron(II) or iron(III) salts into amorphous nanocrystalline ferrihydrite, which coats the surface of the steel slag particles and confers to them a remarkable catalytic activity in the transfer hydrogenation of nitroarenes to anilines.
