CO2 capture by accelerated weathering of limestone using waste limestone at elevated CO2 concentrations

open access: yesJournal of Chemical Technology &Biotechnology, EarlyView.
Abstract BACKGROUND Accelerated weathering of limestone (AWL) using waste limestone (WL) for industrially relevant CO2 capture remains underexplored. Previous studies on potable water‐operated AWL have mainly examined idealised conditions, such as the use of high‐purity limestone or relatively low CO2 concentrations, which may not reflect selected ...

Catechol‐Containing Poly(2‐isopropyl‐2‐oxazoline): Synthesis and Thermoresponsive Behavior in Aqueous Salt Solutions

open access: yesMacromolecular Rapid Communications, EarlyView.
Polymers carrying catechol groups are interesting mussel‐inspired materials for wet adhesion applications or metal ion complexation for wastewater treatment. Here, catechol‐containing poly(2‐isopropyl‐2‐oxazoline)s were synthesized via microwave‐assisted cationic (co)polymerization and examined with regard to their thermoresponsive LCST behavior in ...

Glyco‐Nanogels for Modulating Pseudomonas aeruginosa Biofilm

open access: yesMacromolecular Rapid Communications, EarlyView.
Nanogels presenting α‐galactose and β‐fucose can significantly alter Pseudomonas aeruginosa biofilm dynamics through their interaction with lectins. Application timing is crucial: pre‐treatment reduces biofilm, while treatment after biofilm initiation increases biomass.

An Inimer Approach Based on Photo Iniferter RAFT Polymerization Toward One‐Pot Bottlebrush Copolymers Featuring Grafts From Less Activated Monomers

open access: yesJournal of Polymer Science, EarlyView.
We present a stepwise one‐pot synthesis of bottlebrush copolymers using the inimer approach for less activated monomers (LAMs). Under the irradiation of wavelength 1 (λ1), an acrylamide‐based inimer was polymerized to create a backbone with active sites for grafting.
