Sustainable Catalyst‐Free PLG Networks: Recyclability, Biodegradability, and Functional Performance

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A catalyst‐additive free covalent adaptable network is developed from star‐shaped poly(lactide‐co‐glycolide) cross‐linked with pyromellitic dianhydride, enabling internal carboxylic acid‐driven transesterification. The resulting biodegradable network exhibits mechanical robustness (Young's modulus ≈1.6 GPa), complete recyclability, rapid biodegradation

Nasopharynx Recurrent Disease Prevention in Children with Lymphopharyngeal Ring Hyperplasia

open access: yesZdorovʹe Rebenka, 2016
Bsckground. Nasopharyngeal lymphoid tissue is one of the places of accumulation and growth of respiratory disease pathogens. The most vulnerable for them are the children of preschool age with lymphopharyngeal ring hyperplasia who have been found to have

Scalable Polyelectrolyte Complex‐Based Sorbent With Hourly Sorption−Desorption Cycles for Multicyclic Atmospheric Water Harvesting in Arid Environments

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A polyelectrolyte complex‐based sorbent is produced by scalable, environmentally benign aqueous phase inversion. Its porous, LiCl‐ and GO‐integrated architecture enables hourly adsorption−desorption cycles at low relative humidity (RH < 30%). A large‐scale prototype achieves multicyclic, solar‐driven atmospheric water harvesting of 1.37 L kg−1 day−1 ...

Bioinspired Stabilization of Fluorescent Au@SiO2 Tracers for Multimodal Biological Imaging

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates a bioinspired stabilization strategy for fluorescent gold‐silica nanoparticles. Inspired by natural biosilica maturation, high‐temperature calcination transforms the silica shells, preventing dissolution in cell culture media and intracellular environments.

Tolerance of Grasses to Calcium Chloride, Magnesium Chloride and Sodium Chloride

open access: yesPlant Production Science, 2004
The tolerance of six cool-season grasses and six warm-season grasses to three kinds of salt was examined in solution culture. Among the cool-season grasses, tall fescue (Festuca arundinacea Schreb.) was the most tolerant to all three salts.

Strain‐Programmable Luminescent Adhesive Patch With Tartrazine‐Mediated Optical Skin Clearing for Photochemical Tissue Bonding

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We propose a suture‐complementary approach that integrates optical skin clearing with a strain‐programmable luminescent adhesive patch. Hyaluronic acid promotes transdermal delivery of tartrazine to improve optical clearing and stabilizes its interaction with a photosensitizer. Optical clearing increases the penetration depth of visible light into skin,

Influence of convection on free growth of dendrite crystals from solution [PDF]

open access: yes
The free growth of dendrites in a uniformly supercooled solution was examined using cine photography with a Schlieren optical system. Crystals were grown in the bulk of the solution from a centrally located capillary tube, nucleated at the interface with

Nucleation‐Controlled Reconstruction of CuOx for Selective CO2 Electroreduction

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The ratio of oxygen vacancies (Ov) and exposed Cu2O (111)/(200) of CuOx precatalyst is modulated by nucleation control of Cu(OH)2 precursor. Low Ov ratio and high ratio of Cu2O (111)/(200) in slow‐nucleated CuOx reconstructs to high‐coordinated oxide‐derived copper (OD‐Cu) during electrochemical CO2 reduction reaction (CO2RR) and exhibits enhanced ...
