Halogen–Sodium Exchange Revisited
Sodium is the most abundant alkali metal on Earth. Despite being an attractive choice for sustainable synthesis, organosodium compounds are rarely used in organic synthesis and have been overshadowed to date by organolithium compounds.

ABSTRACT Background Therapeutic apheresis (TA) is an established treatment modality for hematologic, neurologic, and immunologic disorders, yet access remains severely limited in sub‐Saharan Africa. Donor apheresis, including platelet apheresis collection from healthy donors, represents an important complementary modality supporting blood product ...

Drug binding sites on Nat1.8 sodium channels [PDF]
The voltage-gated sodium channel, Nav 1.8, is known to play an important role in pain signalling. In this thesis, the functional properties and drug binding sites of wild type and mutant Nav 1.8 sodium channel currents were studied in mammalian sensory ...

The effect of histone deacetylase inhibitors on AHSP expression. [PDF]
Alpha-hemoglobin stabilizing protein (AHSP) is a molecular chaperone that can reduce the damage caused by excess free α-globin to erythroid cells in patients with impaired β-globin chain synthesis.

Сardioprotective agents with biaromatic structure. Part 3. Sodium channel blockers
This review continues a series of reviews on the analysis of compounds with cardioprotective properties in a number of biaromatic structures, which include a range of sodium channel blockers. Among voltage-gated sodium channels, the Nav1.5 isoform is the

ABSTRACT Introduction Patients requiring long‐term continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) generally have poor prognoses. This study evaluated whether adding continuous intravenous sodium infusion (cIVNa) is associated with improved hemodynamics and outcomes in patients undergoing long‐term CRRT for ≥ 7 days.

This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.
