Negative Electrode For Sodium-Ion Batteries

Proceedings II of the 27st Conference STUDENT EEICT 2021, 2021
This work is primarily focused on the development of negative electrodes for sodium-ion batteries. This type of battery does not use lithium for its operation and could therefore be a promising successor to lithium-ion batteries in selected areas.

Sodium Titanate for Sodium-Ion Batteries

Surface Engineering and Applied Electrochemistry, 2019
First research related to the intercalation of sodium atoms into the structure of the host material emerged in the early 1980s. Since that time, the development of sodium-ion batteries continues. In the last decade, a considerable attention is aimed at sodium-ion batteries with the context of renewable energy sources.

High‐Efficiency Cathode Sodium Compensation for Sodium‐Ion Batteries

Advanced Materials, 2020
AbstractSodium‐ion batteries have gained much attention for their potential application in large‐scale stationary energy storage due to the low cost and abundant sodium sources in the earth. However, the electrochemical performance of sodium‐ion full cells (SIFCs) suffers severely from the irreversible consumption of sodium ions of cathode during the ...

Aqueous Sodium-Ion Battery As Post Lithium-Ion Battery

ECS Meeting Abstracts, 2015
Three kinds of secondary batteries, nickel metal hydride, Li-ion and Na/S battery were commercialized in Japan for the first time. Among them, Li-ion battery became the most popular power sources for PDA, because of the highest energy density. However, Li-ion battery is difficult to use for large-scale batteries, because its organic electrolytes are ...

Sodium and sodium-ion energy storage batteries

Current Opinion in Solid State and Materials Science, 2012
Owing to almost unmatched volumetric energy density, Li-ion batteries have dominated the portable electronics industry and solid state electrochemical literature for the past 20 years. Not only will that continue, but they are also now powering plug-in hybrid electric vehicles and electric vehicles.

Sodium-Ion Batteries (a Review)

Russian Journal of Electrochemistry, 2018
State-of-the-art in the studies of sodium-ion batteries is discussed in comparison with their deeper developed lithium-ion analogs. The principal problem hindering the development of competitive sodium-ion batteries is the low effectiveness of the electrode materials at hand. The principal efforts in the formation of anodes for the sodium-ion batteries

From lithium-ion to sodium-ion battery

Russian Chemical Bulletin, 2017
The review discusses the problems of development of sodium-ion batteries intended to replace lithium-ion batteries used in large power plants (electric transport, smart grids). The literature data, mainly for the last five years, devoted to electrode functional materials and electrolytes used in sodium-ion batteries are presented and analyzed.
