Electrical properties and impedance spectroscopy of modified potassium sodium niobate ceramics

open access: yesProceedings of ISAF-ECAPD-PFM 2012, 2012
Lead-free potassium sodium niobate (KNN) ceramics were prepared with lithium modification. Copper oxide was also added as sintering aid. Impedance spectroscopy was used as a tool to analyze electrical behavior of ceramics as a function of frequency from 100 Hz to 10 MHz at various temperatures. © 2012 IEEE.

Transducer Materials Mediated Deep Brain Stimulation in Neurological Disorders

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, Volume 35, Issue 46, November 12, 2025.
This review discusses advanced transducer materials for improving deep brain stimulation (DBS) in neurological disorders. These materials respond to light, ultrasound, or magnetic fields, enabling precise, less invasive neuromodulation. Their stimulus‐responsive properties enhance neural control and adaptive therapy, paving the way for next‐generation ...

The effect of surface termination on dielectric nonlinearity in potassium sodium niobate thin films

open access: yesJournal of the American Ceramic Society, Volume 108, Issue 11, November 2025.
Abstract The impact of alkali‐rich and alkali‐depleted surface terminations on dielectric nonlinearity and ferroelectric properties was investigated in sputtered K0.5Na0.5NbO3 (KNN) films. For the alkali depleted surface termination, a ∼3 nm thick amorphous interfacial layer was found near the top electrode.

Hybrid Atmosphere Processing of Lead-Free Piezoelectric Sodium Potassium Niobate-Based Ceramics

open access: yesCeramics, 2019
K0.5Na0.5NbO3-based ceramics, a promising group of lead-free piezoelectrics, are challenging to sinter dense while avoiding alkali evaporation. This work explores hybrid atmosphere processing, a new approach where reducing atmospheres is used during ...

Alkali oxide-tantalum oxide and alkali oxide-niobium oxide ionic conductors [PDF]

open access: yes
A search was made for new cationic conducting phases in alkali-tantalate and niobate systems. The phase equilibrium diagrams were constructed for the six binary systems Nb2O5-LiNbO3, Nb2O5-NaNbO3, Nb2O5-KNbO3, Ta2O5-NaTaO3, Ta2O5-LiTaO3, and Ta2O5-KTaO3.

The Effect of Dopants on Sintering and Microstructure of Lead-free KNN Ceramics

open access: yesMedžiagotyra, 2011
Lead-free potassium sodium niobate (K0.5Na0.5)NbO3 (KNN) has been prepared via conventional ceramic processing method. The influence of 0.5 wt% - 1.5 wt% MnO2 and WO3 addition on the sintering, crystallographic structure, microstructure and dielectric ...
