VMD Based Fault Diagnosis Method for SOFC Stack Seal Failure and Leakage

open access: yesZhongguo dianli
When the solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) operates for a long time at high temperature, due to the repeated start-stop cycle and long-term operation, the reactor is prone to seal failure, which will lead to leakage failure, and then lead to thermal runaway ...

Electrical Performance and Carbon Deposition Differences between the Bi-Layer Interconnector and Conventional Straight Interconnector Solid Oxide Fuel Cell

open access: yesEnergies, 2014
Carbon deposition considered in a solid oxide fuel cell (SOFC) model may be influenced by the operating voltage, inlet water/methane ratio, working temperature and pressure, inlet molar fraction of fuel and so on.

Evaluation of porous ceramic cathode layers for solid oxide fuel cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 1991
Sr0.15La0.85MnO3 layers with 2 and 10 u thickness, deposited on zirconia based electrolytes, were evaluated as cathodes for high temperature applications. Different electrode layers were characterized in terms of thickness, porosity, three phase boundary

In Situ Measurement of Oxygen Vacancy Dynamics and Surface Exchange Reactions in Oxide Electrode under Solid Electrochemical Cell Operating Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Energy Materials, Volume 16, Issue 16, 22 April 2026.
This study establishes an in situ electrochemical framework using dense bulk electrodes to identify defect chemistry and surface kinetics. While oxygen vacancy concentration is derived via bias modulation, surface exchange coefficients are quantified at open circuit voltage conditions to isolate kinetics.

Electrochemical Performance and Long-Term Durability of a Reversible Solid Oxide Fuel Cell

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrochemical Science, 2015
A reversible solid oxide fuel cell (RSOFC) is one system, which is capable of carrying out energy storage and power generation. In the electrolysis mode, an RSOFC acts as solid oxide electrolysis cell (SOEC), producing hydrogen (from water).

SOFC: Prospects of development

open access: yesEurasian Journal of Physics and Functional Materials, 2021
One of the main conditions for the transition to hydrogen energy is development of reliable, high-performance and cost-effective fuel cells, in which chemical energy is converted directly into electrical energy. The advantages of solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC) are: high electrical efficiency (50 - 60)%, in cogeneration with thermal energy the efficiency
