Lab-on-a-Chip Systems for Aptamer-Based Biosensing

open access: yesMicromachines, 2020
Aptamers are oligonucleotides or peptides that are selected from a pool of random sequences that exhibit high affinity toward a specific biomolecular species of interest.

Plastic masters—rigid templates for soft lithography [PDF]

open access: yesLab on a Chip, 2009
We demonstrate a simple process for the fabrication of rigid plastic master molds for soft lithography directly from (poly)dimethysiloxane devices. Plastics masters (PMs) provide a cost-effective alternative to silicon-based masters and can be easily replicated without the need for cleanroom facilities.

Three‐dimensional Antimony Sulfide Based Flat Optics

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents the development of a grayscale electron beam lithography (g‐EBL) method for fabricating antimony trisulfide (Sb2S3) nanostructures with customizable 3D profiles. The refractive index of g‐EBL patterned Sb2S3 is determined based on the synergy of genetic algorithm and transfer matrix method.

Rapid Soft Lithography by Bottom-Up Enhanced Capillarity [PDF]

open access: yesLangmuir, 2004
The growing demand for new solutions to pursue the trend of micro- and nanoelectronics predicted by Moore's law is stimulating the development of new high-resolution, low-cost lithographies. Here we demonstrate that several bottom-up approaches can be used to increase the throughput of soft lithography by exploiting the enhanced hydrophilicity, the low

Domain‐Wall‐Free Sliding Ferroelectricity in Fully Commensurate 3R Transition Metal Dichalcogenide Bilayers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
It is reported that the ferroelectric switching behavior of rhombohedral (3R) phase transition metal dichalcogenide (TMD) bilayers strongly depends on their domain structures. Single‐domain TMDs (SD‐TMDs) with domain‐wall‐free structures exhibit robust and stable polarization switching, whereas poly‐domain TMDs (PD‐TMDs) with randomly distributed ...

Controlled Movement of Soft Actuators using Multi‐Responsive Microgel Arrays and Microcirculatory Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Microscale hydrogels (microgels) feature improved mass transport characteristics supportive of fast actuation and chemical tunability amenable to programmed stimuli response. A unique soft actuator architecture is realized by encapsulating microgels in soft microcirculatory systems which enable the convenient delivery of liquid stimuli for powering and

High-efficiency focusing and imaging by dielectric kinoform zone plate lenses with soft X-rays

open access: yesJournal of Synchrotron Radiation, 2023
With fast advances in enhancing the focusing/imaging resolution of Fresnel zone plate lenses toward sub-10 nm, low diffraction efficiency in connection with their rectangular zone shape still remains a big issue in both soft and hard X-ray microscopy. In

Recent progress in soft lithography

open access: yesMaterials Today, 2005
The future of nanoscience and nanotechnology depends critically on techniques for micro- and nanofabrication. An emerging set of methods, known collectively as soft lithography, uses elastomeric stamps, molds, and conformable photomasks for patterning two- and three-dimensional structures with minimum feature sizes deep into the nanometer regime.

Biodegradable Polylactic Acid (PLA) Microstructures for Scaffold Applications [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
In this research, we present a simple and cost effective soft lithographic process to fabricate PLA scaffolds for tissue engineering. In which, the negative photoresist JSR THB-120N was spun on a glass subtract followed by conventional UV lithographic ...
