An overview of soft-switching technique for flyback converters
2015 IEEE 11th International Conference on ASIC (ASICON), 2015Flyback topologies are widely used in low power applications due to the small size and low cost. To improve the efficiency via reducing the switching loss, valley switching technique is introduced and several methods to realize valley switching are analysed and compared.

A New Three-Level Soft-Switched Converter
IEEE Transactions on Power Electronics, 2004A three-level, constant-frequency, isolated converter which employs a coupled inductor to achieve zero-voltage switching (ZVS) of the primary switches in the entire line and load range is described. Because the coupled inductor does not appear as a series inductance in the load current path, it does not cause a loss of duty cycle or severe voltage ...

Noise adaptive soft-switching median filter
IEEE Transactions on Image Processing, 2001Existing state-of-the-art switching-based median filters are commonly found to be nonadaptive to noise density variations and prone to misclassifying pixel characteristics at high noise density interference. This reveals the critical need of having a sophisticated switching scheme and an adaptive weighted median filter.

Soft-switching cells for high-power converters
IECON 2014 - 40th Annual Conference of the IEEE Industrial Electronics Society, 2014This paper describes the use of the Auxiliary Resonant Commutated Pole (ARCP) converter topology for the cells of a Modular Multilevel Converter. The workings of the ARCP topology are explained as well as the calculation method used to compare the efficiency to a conventional solution. Comparison is done for an HVDC as well as for a STATCOM application.

A soft-switching inverter using a voltage clamp soft-switching step-up/down DC link
2012 IEEE Third International Conference on Sustainable Energy Technologies (ICSET), 2012A soft-switching pulse-width-modulation single-phase inverter using a voltage clamp soft-switching step-up/down dc link is proposed in this paper. The proposed voltage clamp soft-switching step-up/down not only provides the switches in the section of conventional PWM buck inverter operate at zero-voltage-switching (ZVS), but it has a step-up/down input

A soft-switching dynamic VAr compensator
2017 IEEE Applied Power Electronics Conference and Exposition (APEC), 2017This paper presents a novel soft-switching topology for instantaneous reactive power compensation. The topology has a simple three-phase current source inverter stage, an inductor for temporary energy storage, and an auxiliary resonant circuit to provide a full range of zero-voltage-switching (ZVS) conditions for all the main devices.
