Defects Enhance Stability in 12-fold Symmetric Soft-Matter Quasicrystals
Quasicrystals are materials that exhibit long-range order without translational periodicity. In soft matter, the most commonly observed quasicrystal has 12-fold symmetry and consists of tilings made out of squares and triangles.

An Active Soft Condensed Matter Approach to the Physics of Living Systems
This article aims to introduce the broad field of soft active matter physics and its relevance to the life sciences in simple, accessible language. Although this area of research is relatively new, it has already demonstrated significant potential in providing a physical understanding of many biological processes.

A pure inverse spin Hall effect (ISHE) is demonstrated in ferromagnetic Ni₈₀Fe2₀/YIG heterostructures via the longitudinal spin Seebeck effect. By employing symmetry‐controlled geometries and reference samples, anomalous Nernst contributions are quantitatively eliminated, revealing intrinsic spin–charge conversion in Ni₈₀Fe2₀.

The electronic band structure determines all the charge transport properties of crystalline solids. It also controls the optical response of the material. Bonding characters are strongly influenced by the band structure. The band structures of Mg2TmH6 (Tm = Rh, Pd, Ir, Pt) compounds shown above confirm their metallic nature.

Carboxymethyl cellulose‐based biopolymer optical fibers are fabricated using aqueous wet spinning. The fibers exhibit record‐low optical attenuation in polysaccharide‐based waveguides while maintaining efficient transmission across the visible‐to‐near‐infrared region of the electromagnetic spectrum.
