Soft concurrent constraint programming [PDF]
Soft constraints extend classical constraints to represent multiple consistency levels, and thus provide a way to express preferences, fuzziness, and uncertainty. While there are many soft constraint solving formalisms, even distributed ones, as yet there seems to be no concurrent programming framework where soft constraints can be handled.

An equity aware recommender system for university admissions balancing operational constraints and strategic objectives [PDF]
Institutions of higher education must balance multiple, often conflicting objectives when setting admission targets for their academic programs. In this paper, we introduce a recommendation system that integrates Constraint Satisfaction Problem (CSP ...

Distributed Clustering in Cognitive Radio Ad Hoc Networks Using Soft-Constraint Affinity Propagation [PDF]
Absence of network infrastructure and heterogeneous spectrum availability in cognitive radio ad hoc networks (CRAHNs) necessitate the self-organization of cognitive radio users (CRs) for efficient spectrum coordination.

Optimal mechanism in governmental project screening: A theory of Kornai's soft budget constraint
Soft budget constraint refers to the phenomenon that money losing inefficient projects keep on getting subsidies and operating. It was first phrased and analyzed by the late Hungarian economist Janos Kornai when he studied former socialist economies and ...

Ground Moving Target Tracking Filter Considering Terrain and Kinematics
This paper addresses ground target tracking (GTT) for airborne radar. Digital terrain elevation data (DTED) are widely used for GTT as prior information under the premise that ground targets are constrained on terrain.

Soft constraints on KMOC formalism
Abstract In this note, we investigate the implications of classical soft theorems for the formalism developed by Kosower, Maybee and O’Connell (KMOC) to derive classical observables in gauge theory and gravity from scattering amplitudes.

Ant colony optimization with semi random initialization for nurse rostering problem
A nurse rostering problem is an NP-Hard problem that is difficult to solve during the complexity of the problem. Since good scheduling is the schedule that fulfilled the hard constraint and minimizes the violation of soft constraint, a lot of approaches ...
