Near‐Infrared Light‐Programmable Negative Differential Transconductance in Organic Electrochemical Transistors for Reconfigurable Logic

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Organic electrochemical transistors based on a Near‐Infrared (NIR)‐responsive polymer p(C4DPP‐T) and iodide electrolyte exhibit optically programmable negative differential transconductance. NIR illumination triggers an iodine‐mediated redox process, enabling a transition from binary to ternary conductance states within a single‐layer device.

Implicit Frictional Dynamics With Soft Constraints

open access: yesIEEE Transactions on Visualization and Computer Graphics
Dynamics simulation with frictional contacts is important for a wide range of applications, from cloth simulation to object manipulation. Recent methods using smoothed lagged friction forces have enabled robust and differentiable simulation of elastodynamics with friction.

"Overlapping Tax Revenue, Soft Budget, and Rent Seeking" [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper investigates how the soft-budget constraint with grants from the central government to local governments tends to internalize the vertical externality of local public investment by stimulating local expenditure when both the central and local ...

Modulating Interfacial Potential Gradients in Metal−Carbon Catalysts via Phase‐Engineering for Lithium–Sulfur Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
It is elucidated that phase engineering of cobalt modulates the interfacial potential gradients of cobalt–carbon electrocatalysts, enhancing the intrinsic electrocatalytic performance. Modulating the dominant crystalline phase of cobalt from a hexagonal close‐packed to a face‐centered cubic enriches the electron density of carbon shells, thereby ...

Counterion Dependent Side‐Chain Relaxation Stiffens a Chemically Doped Thienothiophene Copolymer

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Oxidation of a thienothiophene copolymer, p(g3TT‐T2), via different doping strategies and dopant molecules resulted in materials with similar oxidation levels and a high electrical conductivity of ≈100 S cm−1. However, mechanical properties varied significantly, with sub‐glass transition temperatures and elastic moduli spanning from –44°C to –3°C and ...

A Novel Hyper-Heuristic Algorithm with Soft and Hard Constraints for Causal Discovery Using a Linear Structural Equation Model

open access: yesEntropy
Artificial intelligence plays an indispensable role in improving productivity and promoting social development, and causal discovery is one of the extremely important research directions in this field. Acyclic directed graphs (DAGs) are the most commonly

Investment decisions and the soft budget constraint: evidence from Hungarian manufacturing firms [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper investigates the investment behaviour of a large panel of Hungarian firms in the period 1989–99, in order to assess the impact of institutional and regulatory changes on the efficiency of credit allocation.

Fairness in Academic Course Timetabling

open access: yes, 2013
We consider the problem of creating fair course timetables in the setting of a university. Our motivation is to improve the overall satisfaction of individuals concerned (students, teachers, etc.) by providing a fair timetable to them.

Meta‐Rod Mechanical Metamaterials With Programmable Reconfiguration

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Existing mechanical metamaterials achieve programmable large deformations in planar square or cubic configurations, restricted by required complex boundary conditions. This research proposes a 1D metamaterial, Meta‐rod, with linear, bending, twisting, area, and volume deformation modes.

The Soft Cumulative Constraint

open access: yes, 2009
This research report presents an extension of Cumulative of Choco constraint solver, which is useful to encode over-constrained cumulative problems. This new global constraint uses sweep and task interval violation-based algorithms.
