A microfluidic 2×2 optical switch [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
A 2×2 microfluidic-based optical switch is proposed and demonstrated. The switch is made of an optically clear silicon elastomer, Polydimethylsiloxane (PDMS), using soft lithography.

Atomically thin mica flakes and their application as ultrathin insulating substrates for graphene [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
We show that it is possible to deposit, by mechanical exfoliation on SiO2/Si wafers, atomically thin mica flakes down to a single monolayer thickness.

Optoelectronic Synaptic Devices Using Molecular Telluride Phase‐Change Inks for Three‐Factor Learning

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Optoelectronic synaptic devices based on solution‐processed molecular telluride GST‐225 phase‐change inks are demonstrated for three‐factor learning. A global optical signal broadcast through a silicon waveguide induces non‐volatile conductance updates exclusively in locally electrically flagged memristors.

A liquid metal alloy antenna based on soft lithography

open access: yesDianzi Jishu Yingyong, 2019
A novel frequency reconfigurable microstrip patch antenna is proposed, which uses liquid metal alloy and highly extensible elastomer as a radiant patch and a dielectric substrate, respectively. The liquid metal used is eutectic gallium-indium alloy(EGaIn)

A Room-Temperature High-Conductivity Metal Printing Paradigm with Visible-Light Projection Lithography [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Fabricating electronic devices require integrating metallic conductors and polymeric insulators in complex structures. Current metal-patterning methods such as evaporation and laser sintering require vacuum, multistep processes, and high temperature ...

Microfluidic Platform for Multiparametric Profiling of Fibrin Permeability, Fibrinolysis, and Cell Invasion

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This paper introduces a single‐channel H‐junction microfluidic assay that profiles fibrin's evolving function in repair and thrombosis by measuring, in one ∼3 µL gel, permeability, fibrinolysis kinetics, fibroblast invasion, and clot extension in real time.

Dispensing Volumetric Additive Manufacturing

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Dispensing volumetric additive manufacturing (DVAM) prints 3D structures inside a photocurable resin droplet suspended from the tip of a glass pipette, enabling sequential printing without resin vats or manual part removal. Real‐time droplet profiling and ray‐tracing‐based correction compensate for optical distortion at the curved resin‐air interface ...

Disposable ultrasound-sensing chronic cranial window by soft nanoimprinting lithography

open access: yesNature Communications, 2019
Chronic cranial windows (CCW) enable long-term imaging of brain activity, but usually they only provide passive optical access to the tissue. Here the authors develop an active CCW integrated with an ultrasound detector which enables long-term ...
